Classic Rock Bottom

In this chapter I will mainly deal with songs from Fathers to Sons, before just a little taste of Daughters about Fathers that will be continued next time.
Plus I will be reading some beautiful quotes about Fathers throughout this series that I am reasonably sure you will enjoy and will touch your heart
For all the fun and thought that goes into them, I always enjoy doing these Theme shows the most.

RJ,
Stop waiting, as I said about Pt.1 I won't be playing it, lol!
There will be another brilliant, later-period John Sebastian & Lovin' Spoonful song coming up about anticipating fatherhood, and being the world's coolest Dad.
He was ahead of his time!
I like the Pony Boy and the John Lennon one, and I know I played it before, and I hate to repeat songs, but given the topic, like the Sebastian song I couldn't leave it out.
I thought the major find for that episode was the McCartney tune!
St. Judy's Comet by Simon is a great and overlooked song- most people who have actually heard it don't realize it is a Father/Son song.
I like your message about it and you will too, lol!
Hey, that's the 10 month old that fell off the bed right?
I can't explain why I like that Carly Simon song so much.
But then, how can we ever explain our musical likes, lol?
Thanks for the listen and the writing,
Mike

Mike,

No Conway Twitty yet...I'm still waiting.

How did I know you would work at least one John Sebastian song in there?  You know, he provided the ladder...

You know, I like the song Pony Boy by The Boss, but I don't care for his vocals.  That's the voice of his that's really annoying to me.  But the song is cool.

Beautiful Boy by John Lennon is one you have already introduced me to on a previous show.  Do you remember that?  Great, great song.

St. Judy's Comet by Mr. Simon is my favorite from this show.  I immediately thought of my 10 month old son from the very beginning of the song.  See your messages about this song.

I like Carly Simon too, but although this song is beautiful lyrically, I didn't care for her vocal.

Will get to part 3 tomorrow.

Scott,
My shows may be timely, but I apologize for taking so long to respond.
I had just an awful week.
Man, I need a vacation, lol!
Wow, you have sons 19 & 23?
I never would have guessed.
No country music in sight eh, well I gotta figure that George Strait song I played in Part One was lost to him then, lol!
Yeah Carly Simon can always be a good choice for many topics I tackle- that lady can write songs!
Very nice to hear you enjoyed the show, music to my ears.
Now about this:

Please dont make me cry on your daughters and father show!

I think that I can guarantee that you WILL cry, lol!
But some cries are good for the soul, so I hope you will tune in as I have some unbelievable songs picked out.
Thanks for listening, and the kind words,
Mike

Yo Mike!  Timely series!  Love it..  As a father to 2 boys and 2 girls all of these apply to me!

I got 2 great boys, well...  men now - 19 and 23.  I raised them to love rock and roll and hate country.  My 19 year olds favorite band is Rush with no country music in sight!  Now I would say thats a job well done!  hahahaha

More Carly Simon, good choice.

Love this show!

Please dont make me cry on your daughters and father show!
