Classic Rock Bottom

We continue with Christmas 2011.
You know how at many parties there is someone who starts trouble?
Well, at our Party that Troublemaker will be ME!
With tongue-firmly-planted-in-cheek, I'll take a musical look at what I called "the freeloaders who write to Santa Claus and feel entitled to what they asked for", lol!
Even Santa will chime in about that.
I'll also have some Carols that are given very, very different musical treatments than what we are used to.
Next week, if all goes well, and if I can do it, something special.
I may fall flat on my face, lol!

RJ,
Yes I guess that was R.E.M. Timbuk 3 sounded like, I was wondering myself.
All those songs were just a setup for Don Novello, the Fr. Guido from SNL.
And that was a funny bit, lol!
Glad you enjoyed it, I was certainly "out there" for that show- never more free-form as I had no idea what I was going to play when I sat down to do the show.
Sant'a Doo Wop Helpers got the Golden Pell.
But honestly, I would have taken the Golden Pell for Loreena McKennit's God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen.
Loved it from the first moment I heard it, all sorts of Indian, African & who knows what else influenes in there.
Always feel like I am on LSD or something, lol!
Good to have you back, thanks for listening and writing...but the Golden Pell...oh well, SOMETHING usually gets it, lol,
Mike

Mike,

Better late than never, right?  That Timbuck 2, I mean 3, tune is pretty cool.  I thought it sounded a lot like R.E.M.

Golden Pell to "All I Want For Christmas Is You", the second track you played, by Sant's Doo-Wops or something of that nature.

Loved Father Guido.  That gave me a good laugh.

Also, nice change up of Oh Little Town of Bethlehem.  It sounded pretty dang good to the melody of House Of The Rising Sun.

Enjoyed it.
