Usually they have the radio on...I think.

I was saving that James Taylor song for the right moment.

I watched Hee Haw sometimes, but I got that info from the band's bio- originally I thought to play it by Dave Edmunds, a terrific version, but I thought I'd go different.

Jon was kind of nudging me to play the Foreigner song, and I was sure others were wondering when too, so I thought I'd wait and sneak it in when thay had given up.

The surprise worked with you, lol!

Didn't realize how much I liked that Lindesfarne song until I played it for the show, damn good!

And it almost won a GP.

Happy again I brought back a good memory with Alabama- that old element of surprise.

Now I give you my word, there was no upset with Ellis Paul for Jukebox On My Grave.

I liked this song so much, and knew you would too, I was just waiting for it to be the winner of the coveted Golden Pell.

In fact, I was so sure I couldn't wait for you to hear it...which you almost screwed up with the whole Pt.3 thing, lol!

That is one GREAT song, and I agree. it's got it all lyrically and musically!

That was a find!

And having played it before, I knew how you felt about Johnny Rivers Summer Rain- a feeling we share.

But couldn't be a Golden Pell contender.

Thanks for listening and writing- and the excellent job, it came out pretty good,

Jon,

It's country-skewed because when you come down to it, I discovered Country Music does more songs about the Jukebox than any other.

You know, in those honky-tonks!

Looking back, I wasted too much time going bars after work, playing the jukebox and playing pool, but it sure seemd like fun then, lol!

You can keep inflicting it on us here at CRB, lol!

Damn good thing I played Jukebox Hero or...OH THE HUMANITY!

But that IS cool, Foreigner used to blow up a huge jukebox on stage?

Come on, this wasn't your favorite because of the countrynessnish (HUH?).

James Taylor and Ellis Paul are folkies, you know Foreigner, Lindisfarne is British, and Johnny Rivers ain't Country!

That leaves 3 songs, and one of them was Rockabilly from Sun in 1956.

No wonder you have no friends, lol!

Thanks for listening and writing- and don't worry, I, ME, MYSELF am your friend...and Jukebox Hero, lol,

Got it. Hey, good thing is this catches me up with everybody on CRB!

The only place that I see jukeboxes these days would be the Waffle House.

That James Taylor song was cool. Almost gave it the GP, but not quite.

BR549. I used to say that all the time when someone asked my phone number. I watched a lot of Hee Haw as a kid 'cause my Dad watched it.

I didn't realize you hadn't played the Foreigner song. But that's a good thing because I got to hear it today. That, even though I've heard it a thousand times, is a great song that I always like to hear on the airwaves.

The song by Lindesfarne was all lined up to receive the GP, but in an upset surpassed only by Jethro Tull defeats Metallica, not so fast...

Alabama, I do believe, is the best pure Country band to ever make music. I hadn't heard this song in forever, so again, thanks for playing it and bringing back that memory.

And the upset winner of the coveted Golden Pell goes to Ellis Paul for Jukebox On My Grave. What a killer, beautiful song. Lyrically and musically.

And you closed the subject with a bang by playing Johnny Rivers. Easily my favorite song by him. So moody, so gorgeous, Summer Rain.

You listened to right part RJ, just posted in the wrong one.

I guess I confused you because series usually end on an even number.

But since I had a half show on more Records, this says Part 3 END!
You may not have listened to that yet, you are writing about Part 2.

Well, this was quite country-skewed, wasn't it?

It was fun to go to the bar after work, plus some money into the jukebox and play pool for a few hours. THen go back to the bar later on and play more pool. Haven't done that in years, probably because I no longer have friends. Sure, I could still go the bar and sit at the end of the bar in a dark corner and watch the people do stupid stuff and impart words of wisdom, but a majority of the people aren't worthy of my wisdom. However, if I were to do this, you would be damned sure I would wear my ratty John Deere hat and a pair of filthy bib overalls.

Of course you played Jukebox Hero. Why wouldn't you? If you didn't, I would have to impart some words of wisdom. Luckily, I do not. I wonder how many people know the words to that song? It's one of those songs most everybody born back then and there that should know all the words. Plus they used to blow up a huge jukebox on stage when they were done with the song. Kinda cool. Kinda LOUD.

Nice series of shows, this one wasn't my favorite though because of the countrynessnish, but you can't please everyone all the time.
Michael Martin Murphy, isn't that the guy that did Wildfire? It doesn't sound like him at all.

Chuck Berry, he might just be a staple for you. You play him a good bit. I have one question regarding him...do his solo's ever sound different?

The Stones song was really cool. I really liked the guitar solo, and it made me think of Chuck Berry. And did you say Chuck wrote it?

Joan Jett, I was wondering if you would get around to this one. I was never a big JJ fan. This song is decent but it definitely got overplayed way back when.

I always dug that song Two Dollars In The Jukebox, but had kind of forgotten it, so I'm glad that you played it. Didn't remember that it was Eddie Rabbitt either, so even more coolness brought forward by the Pellmeister.

Rory Gallagher, always wondered what his stuff sounded like. Other than the nice geetar playing, not really sure I'm missing much.

Those last two songs didn't really move me.

Nice show though.

I wonder if you'll go country with Joe Diffie in the final part????
