And that CCR song was not so well known even to me, until many years ago my great friend Mike was over the house listening to Music and he pointed out to me what it was about.

I never forgot it!

Not me for that Johnny Cash song, it was a first play.

There is indeed some fine picking and strumming going on in Gordon Lightfoot's song, plus great lyrics!

And again, it's always a great kick when I can introduce you to something like The Canadian Railroad Trilogy- really, it makes things more worthwhile, validates the show's existence.

I had you penciled in for the Golden Pell going to Gordon Lightfoot, my choice too, lol!

But really listen to the James Taylor, it's a solid runner-up and a great song!

I'll be honest, I did forget Dirty Work by Steely Dan, but there wasn't enough time.

Ah bull, that's true, but everything may have been changed around if I had- you know how that Free-Form works, lol!

Thanks for the listen and writing, and Happy Labor Day,

Jon,

While I am sure there are people who would like to hammer you, if you can handle booze properly getting hammered is terrific, lol!

People who liked the first half better are simply wrong, it had all that Country in it remember, so work harder to like this one- I mean do some WORK for a change, lol!

Honestly, with that Stones album those are the 2 best on it.

YES...for Lightfoot, a true Classic, both him and songs like that!

Guess what. I listened to this at work too. And it's a good thing I listened before lunch, because we were busy as crap this afternoon. This show was absolutely great. Just not a bad song whatsoever.

Loved the opener. It's a classic. I had not heard that Stones song before. I'm really glad I have now. The guitar work is just phenomenal. We have been discussing the merits of the rhythm work from this band lately. So this was a great pick.

Then comes CCR and a song that's not so well known. Terrific.

The Johnny Cash song is one I have heard, and I really like it. Have you played it before? Seems like I may have heard it from you, but I'm not sure.

James Taylor. Gordon Lightfoot. You're throwing out the big guns for this half. Speaking of Gordo, I've never actually heard the song Canadian Railroad Trilogy, though I have heard of it. There is some fine picking and strumming going on.

Two more big names to close it out, and it's over. The only song you forgot was Dirty Work by Steely Dan.

I'm not hammered. Should I be?

This was a bit of a departure from the first show which I dig, more than this one. Here's good songs here, but I liked part one better. How could I make this one to my liking? Well, I can't. That's the way it is!

You know, other than "Harlem Shuffle", I don't think I've heard anything else off of the DW album. For some reason, I never bothered to pick it up. Don't know why, maybe it was the cheap-looking album cover, maybe I just wasn't…

Yeah, that Lightfoot song is pretty darn good. And, since I listened to this show twice, I guess I like it better than I thought.

Well, have a nice holiday.
