I may have to go on a personal crusade to make him more well known, lol!

As you know, I just love playing the ones people have completely forgotten about and I had that feeling about the Moody Blues song.

I still have the pile for the series of 1967 songs I was doing and want to return to, and Janis Ian was in it.

I had a feeling I was going to end the show with Seasons, so I thought of her A Song For All The Seasons Of Your Mind, and that's the name of it.

And a definitely worthy Golden Pell winner!

Those first 2 or 3 Janis Ian albums were gems, with lyrics and topics that were unique!

Sorry it took so long to respond, I think I caught that flu stuff from you, lol!
Thanks for the listen and writing, another dependable guy,

Mike,

I've gotta tell you, I was sleepwalking through this show. Even with all the big names (Harrison, Chapin and Taylor), it just wasn't reaching me.

But then, you played Fred Neal (Neil?) and the second half of the show killed. That song Other Side To This Life really sounds like it should've been done by Johnny Cash (no disrespect to Fred). Then, a song that I've heard but completely forgotten about, The Moody Blues with The Other Side Of Life.…

And you closed with the Golden Pell winner, Janis Ian. I didn't get the name of the song, but it was really good.
Jon,

Jon,

Playing Harry Chapin is always nice for me.

Something not right with the cosmos fro all that crap to happen to such a nice guy!

That's Fred Neil, and I gotta play more of him- he's virtually unknown and that's just wrong.

Are you kidding me?
That Moody Blues album has Your Wildest Dreams and Rock & Roll Over You on it, just to name a couple besides the title track!

That Janis Ian Indian feeling seems to come from a guitar trying to sound like a sitar.

Mr Chapin was nice, I remember the announcement on the radio that he died in a car crash. Didn't really know who he was back then, but remember the announcement.

Fred Neal was a really good song, didn't sound like it came from '65. Dug it.

The Moody Blues song is good (the album as a whole isn't) and nice end with Janis Ian. Kinda Indian feeling, know what I mean?

I was ok, as testified to by my ability to get up early on my own and write the blog and put out Part Ewo.

Yes, that JT seemed to go nicely in there.

And ah, that's music to my ears- playing a song it's been too long since you've heard- in this case, the Moody Blues The Other Side Of This Life.

That's what I love to do!

The Golden Pell to Mr Chapin...I think that would be my pick too.

But I am always surprised when it's a song I think people have heard.

But hey, you just can't hear them all!

Happy New Year to you and yours my friend, I am always glad to hear from you.

2013 IS off to a great start, but it's only hours since it began...we'll have to see, lol,

I don't drink so no hang over for me! I don't miss those days.

You play Chapin every now and again and I always like it. Love JT and the tune you played is perfect, but the Moody Blues tune really works so good, and I love their music! Its been too long since I heard The Other Side, easily the Golden Pell, but since Ive heard it before I have to pick a different song... It has to be Chapin this time.
