ROCKOLLECTIONS: 1967 AND SUMMER OF LOVE PT.4

One of many musical lessons I learned in 1967 was that songs could be Poetry.

They could bring an economical use of words to paint pictures in your mind.
So to open this chapter, a listen to only a few of those more literate offerings (with more to come as we move along in the series).
After that, I’ll play a LONG song that I venture most people haven’t heard, as it never gets played today.
In fact, it never got played much back then- Scott Muni on WNEW-FM was the ONLY DJ I ever heard play it!
If you have heard it before, it will undoubtedly bring back a memory…hopefully a fun one.
But you may have forgotten all about it- its very existence!
It is a song with a very strange story about a Nightmare Train Ride, complete with a surprise ending that has always amused me.
It was very much a product of its time, that burgeoning Brave New World Of Music coming at us from all angles in 1967!

Yngve,
Fashion over Music?
No, can’t be.
But that broad is hot, lol!
Thanks for the listen and writing,
Mike

Jon,
I picked that picture for attention...after it got mine, lol!
THIS is funny, lol!
“Was there music?”
And I get it, sidetracked!
But hey listen to Endless Tunnel by Serpent Power, crazed track!
Thanks for the listen and writing,
Mike

Well, here's my professional assessment of 1967.

The music left a lot to be desired, unlike the fashion which left very little to the imagination.

Yeah, nice show.

Hey, they don't wear clothes like that anymore.

Kinda transfixed by the.....fashion.

Was there music?

Was kind of sidetracked.
