ROCKOLLECTIONS: HOME FOR THANKSGIVING 2014 PT.2 END

These Thanksgiving and the Christmas shows are the most fun for me each year.
I like Turkey a lot, and while I don't know what brand the best tasting Turkey is, I am sure you'll agree with me on the best NAMED!
And that will be the first song, having in fact nothing at all to do with Turkey, lol!
More deep cuts in here.
I'll read something aloud I haven't done in years.
And I think I got lucky and found the perfect Song to end with!
While in our lives things are never perfect, there are dozens and dozens of things to be Thankful for- just look around you…or look inside you!
I am Thankful for doing one more Home For Thanksgiving show for you- Thank You!
Happy Thanksgiving Everybody!

RJ,
See, I was right about Butterball, lol!
I figured the one song that Jon didn't like was the Kiss one almost immediately.
And I was thinking of you when keeping the Kiss fans happy, lol!
Some songs come out of the blue, and that Bobby Bare song is a perfect example- just happened to think of it.
That John Denver song is a classic- that one I had ready as I heard it recently.
And that short JT song...oh man I LOVE that one...it's gone unplayed on the Thanksgiving show for too long.
Love Run For Home too, and said so.
And from left field, Home To You by Earth Opera gets the Golden Pell- not too surprising, and one good song!
No, I haven't heard Blackfoot's Highway Song- why don't you send it if you can?
I have played songs about being away from home on Thanksgiving on the show, just last year with S & G and the Moody Blues.
But I have spent so many years thinking about, sometimes writing down songs for Going Home, it's a big shift in thought.
I would have to do some digging and heavy thinking, but I am sure there are enough for at least an hour.
It's a good thought on your part.
But sort of like the other side of the mirror, lol!
Intriguing...!
Thanks for the listen and writing, I am thankful for that!
Happy Thanksgiving my friend,
Mike

Jon,
Living in Detroit is a form of suicide!
I wondered briefly, just briefly, what one song you didn't like, then it came to me.
And you, briefly, got sentimental there, thank you.
I am thankful I provide you with 30 minutes of fun twice a week!
If I didn't nothing would change, but I have been there.
Then of course you immediately returned to being the guy who starts the fight at dinner, then sits back and watches, LOL!
Thanks for the listen and writing, I enjoy that!
Happy Thanksgiving my friend,
Mike

Butterball is the best name for a turkey.

Imagine my surprise when I heard the beginning of Coming Home by Kiss.  You know, the one song that Jon doesn't like.  It's nice to know you do your best to keep the Kiss fans happy.

I really love that Bobby Bare song. Detroit City.  What a great vocal on that song.

Another classic with John Denver.  Yet another incredible vocal performance.  And how 'bout that short JT song?  Super short.  Run For Home and Thanksgiving Song were terrific.  Run For Home sounds like something Dan Fogleberg would have written..

The Golden Pell goes to Earth Opera for Home To You.  Loved that one.

For some reason, listening this year made me think about the Blackfoot song Highway Song.  Have you ever heard it?  It's about being out on the road, away from home.  Which made me think you should do a Thanksgiving show about being away from home.  Oh well, just a thought.

If you go to sleep in Detroit, you won't wake up because you'll be dead.

Hey, that Butterball song could have been about the boxer as well. Why not?

I liked this show, except for one song. I will not mention that song because I am supposed to be thankful. Thankful for what? I DON'T KNOW!

But, I must thank you, Mr. Pell. You have provided me with 30 minutes of fun twice a week for many years now. If you weren't around, my life would still be the same, BUT you added something so you should be proud and thankful that you added something in MY life.

Oh, yeah. Happy Thanksgiving.

Whatever.
