Classic Rock Bottom

ROCKOLLECTIONS: VOL6- ODDS AND ENDS PT.2 END

I talked about Cocaine a bit in Part One, and that made me think of an old tape I have had for years.
I brought it to the Radio Station one time and played it for Engineer Ken Stanley, and I always knew someday I would find a use for it.
It's a scene from a famous TV show about LSD, another Drug I have never touched.
Hey, I was strictly a beer or a shot guy, lol!
Some Music to go with that.
Then a few Leftover songs from long ago Theme Series that went unplayed for reasons ranging from not enough time to I simply forgot all about them.
Speaking of Theme Series, I will be playing one I did in 2010 for this coming month of August.
It will most likely be New to you, because listening to it after all that time even I was surprised at what I played!
I will be going back on Vacation as I have more time coming from August into September.
The real one!
Give a listen and enjoy...everything this Summer!

Alright the Classic Pell then.

Funny how that is, the older we get the more some songs mean.

And others that meant little grow in importance.

I hate to tell you this, but I had the easiest day imaginable.
They were taping a Christmas show at the TV station, so I couldn't get in there to record voiceovers.

All I did was eat the catered food, lol!

I forgot the GP.  But actually, I'd prefer to give a Classic Pell to Yesterday When I Was Young.  Obviously, the older I get, the more that song means to me.

I couldn't listen yesterday.  I had a day from hell at work.  It's really been that way all week.  I was so fried that I was no good to the family last night.  I tried laying on the sofa, but I had to get up and go to the bedroom for some peace and quiet.  Hopefully I'm refreshed today and I'll have a decent day at work.  We shall see.

RJ,
Honest is good.
Maybe the subject matter, but also as I told you I was dragging and anxious to get the show over.
I was pulling out songs that were physically close to me and trusting that it would be an acceptable effort.
The Art Lover is creepy, but seemingly harmless.
I thought you would like Brick And Mortar, we both are open to country-tinged music.
And I agree, Yesterday When I Was Young is a beauty.
Hey no Golden Pell?
Maybe Brick And Mortar, let's give it to that.
I am sure you did listen to the Psychotherapy Series.
My memory is I posted that around when I first came to your Classic Rock Bottom place.
Might be interesting for you to listen again as we have become friends and know each other much better now.
I know I was surprised at many of the songs I played- 4 years gives you time to forget!
I'll stay frosty, but no more chilled mugs, lol!
Thanks for the listen and writing, and a NEW show someday,
Mike

Gotta be honest my New York friend, this show was dragging big time until Sonny Burns came along.  It was probably the subject matter, LSD and all.  And Art Lover, you may think he's not a bad guy, but he sounds really creepy to me.

Brick And Mortar was way cool.  Then, you really salvaged this show by playing Yesterday When I Was Young.  That has to be one of the all-time greats right there.  I love that song.  I like Roy's version, you know I'm a fan of his, but I prefer Glen Campbell's version.  I'm pretty sure it's been sung by many.

Oh well, may or may not get to the repeats tomorrow.  I'm positive I've listened to them before.  Might listen and not comment this time, we'll see how tomorrow is going.

Stay frosty!

I ALWAYS drop acid before meeting people. It makes it fun!

Jon,
No, but I probably said it wouldn't fit because of the subject matter.
As a bartender, I used to get pissed off at the pople who would snort in the bathroom and then want to stay all night drinking.
I had already stopped drinking, and at 4AM, I wanted out.
I'd tell them there no was nothing less interesting to me than watching them get wasted, and how much is enough when you are already shitfaced and you go and coke up so you can drink some more?
Annoyed the hell out of me!
Best album by The Pretty Things is SF Sorrow, a rock opera done in 1968, before The Who did Tommy!
Sadly overlooked today.
No I didn't set those songs up in a specific way, as I told RJ I wanted the show to end, I was running out of gas...I needed some time in the sun or the mountains and away from music.
I saw the Leftover songs from other Series, bookended two Knowns around two Unknowns, and then I just thought Goodnight was a nice way to end.
Now by playing re-runs I don't have to think of any Music or Themes for 4 weeks...but I will, I always am, lol!
Gotta have something for when I return.
No more Odds & Ends for now, but they will return, as well as the slightly different Favorites & Guilty Pleasures.
I use them in between Series, or if I have too much voiceover work and I need a quick show.
Oh, and was that you in the Dragnet scene after dropping acid?
I've always felt that might be what it is like to meet you in person, lol!
Thanks for the listen and writing,
Mike

I could swear you said before that you didn't like "Art Lover"?

I was offered cocaine once and declined. Then I went to my room and listened to Queens's "A Kind Of Magic" while the party raged. I moved out shortly after. Never had a desire to try it.

Hey, I almost picked up an album or two by The Pretty Things about a month ago. Found other stuff I wanted instead. Maybe I'll go back and pick them up, maybe I'll find something else again.

Did you set these songs up in a specific way? It starts with hard rock and then ends with something completely opposite of hard rock. But that song was #1 for 13 weeks? Jeez. Wow. They must of loved warbly women?

So this is over? No more odds 'n' ends?
