ROCKOLLECTIONS: SONGS THE BEATLES GAVE AWAY PT.2 END

It's another large portion of Songs The Beatles Gave Away.
Played in order of release, and this time from where we left off in 1964 thru 1969.
In those early days, this was done with the encouragement of the Beatles' manager Brian Epstein, as they supplied some of their songs to artists also managed by Epstein.
And usually they were friends with John Lennon and Paul McCartney.
Artists began clamoring to secure original Lennon–McCartney songs, knowing that there would automatically be media and public interest in such songs.
Oh, not enough time to fit in, so I left out Penina, written by McCartney at the Hotel Penina in December 1968, when he was vacationing in Portugal.
The song was first recorded by the hotel's band Jotta Herre, but a month later it was also recorded by the singer Carlos Mendes- it's the Mendes version that is the better one.
Again, some of these you'll know and some you won't.
And again, I hope you'll enjoy ALL!

RJ,
Thought you might be having computer problems what with the trouble you had last time.
No, not the greatest collection of Beatles songs, but of interest because it has to do with the the Beatles.
And I had more listeners than any show in recent years, a testament to their staying power.
I had forgotten I had those introductions on those two songs- so a happy surprise to me when I found them, and very cool.
You like the Cilla Black one, I like the Peter & Gordon, lol!
I am so used to that George Harrison written song that the vocal doesn't bother me, if it ever did.
So another revelation from the Professor about Come And Get It by Badfinger, lol!
And Step Inside Love by Cilla Black gets the Golden Pell.
A good song she was wise enough to use for her TV show, and a nice pick by you!
I liked the Mary Hopkin Goodbye too!
Thanks for the listen and writing,
Mike

I don't think I would ever call this the greatest collection of Beatles songs, but you can definitely tell that they were written by The Beatles.

I really dig those personal introductions on the two songs.  That was neat.  I think the Cila Black song was the better of those two.

That George Harrison written song could have been excellent, and it was musically.  But the vocal for that track was horrible and difficult to listen to.

The only song of all of these I have heard is Come And Get It by Badfinger.  But to be honest, I had no idea who it was written by.

But the hands down best song that you played today was Step Inside Love by Cila Black.  That song was killer and it has been give the Golden Pell.

Jon,
I was waiting for RJ, but he's MIA, lol!
You think the second half was better because the Beatles had started taking drugs by this one.
And we all know the druggy Beatles are your favorites, lol!
A giveaway?
You'll get NOTHING and LIKE it, lol!
I think you are getting writer's block- there goes that book I thought you'd write!
Thanks for the listen and short writing, and I hope you get unstuck from your guns,
Mike

the first was ok, I guess. The second half was better.

See? At least I stick to my guns with what I like from the Beatles.

Did I win something since this is a giveaway?

Notice my responses are getting shorter?
