Songs I like- some more strongly than others- but this is not my Greatest Love Songs Of All Time countdown, lol!
Love can lift you up, Love can break your heart.
And some of the BEST Songs are about Love Lost!

A week off is gold!

I was playing Hits again, lol- love that 4th song by the group Orpheus!

Good predicting on your part, both The Mamas and The Papas and The Association will be played this upcoming week!

Always loved that Kris Kristofferson song, especially early on when you expect him to say when I MET her and instead he says when I FOUND her.

That one word turns it into a real story, opens up a world of difference!

Funny, I just listened to Bat Out Of Hell all the way through a few weeks ago for the first Time in years!

So many terrific songs on there, and the one on your list is dynamite!

Jon,

Sometimes I cringe during playback.

I started recording before noon that day, and my voice kept coming out garbled- finally after a nap and going out, I got it working around 9 at night.

It is a tribute to my professionalism that the public could not hear me seething, lol!

I didn't know what the hell I was saying, I just wanted to get the show started and rolling- and I was more surprised than anyone to hear that all 60's remark!

As for Juliet Turner, first she is from Ireland.

Second, you could not possibly list all the songs in Popular Music that have stretched words.

Come on, Buddy Holly turned the 4-letter word WELL into 4-syllables, lol!

As for this, "I'm do-one. I'm going no-ow. Yeah, I'm going to turn one syllable words into two syllables now. Guess I really didn't forget about that song."

Nobody likes a smartass, LOL!

Typing as I'm listening today...yes, I'm still off of work this week.

I recognize that first one pretty quick.  Three Dog Night, I can dig it. I also recognize the second song.  Can't remember who sings it, but I've definitely heard it quite a few times. Hey, I even recognize song number three. That's three in a row.  Is this The Association?  I'm probably totally off, but for some reason that's what I'm thinking. 

Well, I guess your run is over.  I have never heard this fourth song.  Oops, The Mamas and The Papas, not The Association.  As you can see, I'm not familiar with much from the sixties, as far as who sang what anyway.

Next up is a nice little love song.  Very nice lyrically, and she has a really sweet voice.  Nice pick.  I really like the next track up.  I was originally thinking of the little lady you just played for the Golden Pell, but I'm totally digging this one.  Buffalo Springfield is the artist, Sit Down I Think I Love You is the song.

Emmy Lou Harris and Don Williams, a very nice combination.  And they sound great together. Very nice.  I have no idea who this is on the next song, but it's a cool little song.  Sounds like a classic country artist.  Ah, Kris Kristofferson, at least I got the "classic country artist" bit right.

Let's see, nice show, but I could never make a "love" song list without including my all time favorite song, performed by Meat Loaf:

Now, you said "a set of songs all from the 60's", but the first song you played was from the 70's and you even mentioned that it was from 1971. Are you trying to pull a fast one, seeing if we really listen? 

Hmmmm......

Now I wonder about you.

Ok, now I have to piss you off. That song from Juliette Turner. It sounds like someone trying to mimic Alannis Morissette (or however you spell her name) with that type of vocalization. Plus, it's "pain" not "pin". And both those words are one syllable, not two. She does it again with "tears". 

Oooh, boy. I'm sorry, but that song almost took me completely out of the show.

Luckily, I now forget things quickly because I'm getting older. But then I had to listen to it again on the second go-thru and it did the same as above.

Now I've forgotten it again because it's over.

So....

Pre & post Juliette were really good. You know, there are a lot of covers of a lot of those songs, especially from the first half.
