VERSUS # 7

I'm changing directions a little bit with this edition of versus. First off, I'm posting videos from youtube so that you can listen to each song. This shouldn't infringe upon Niels' VOTW feature because these are country songs. I know, this is a classic rock site, but I saw Willie Nelson on Austin City Limits last night, and I think these two songs are very cool. He performed the first one, but that made me think of the second one, so I thought I'd pit the two against each other and see what you guys think. Remember, vote for the song you think is best, not the video.

Song One: Poncho And Lefty (Willie Nelson and Merle Haggard)

Song Two: Seven Spanish Angels (Willie Nelson and Ray Charles)

Since I am sentimentally attached to it for certain reasons, I will choose Seven Spanish Angels by Willie Nelson & Ray Charles.

If I am not mistaken, Pancho & Lefty was written and sung by Townes Van Zant.

I have never heard anyone do that song better than Townes does!

Since you answered the question, I'll let you slide with the Townes comment...just kidding. I've never heard his version, but I'm sure it's good. I happen to like Willie and Merle's version, but I haven't yet decided which of the two songs in question is my favorite. And I just realized why you are sentimentally attached to Seven Spanish Angels (I think).

I like "Pancho And Lefty" a tad better, but just a tad. I am not big into country music, but both songs were quite good.

I can't stand country music, so these both dont work for me at all... But in the spirit of fair play, I will vote for Pancho and Lefty because it was done by BigBallz Video.
