Classic Rock Bottom

Considering that the last Billy Thorpe post went over so horribly, we're going to feature another BT album this week which makes it the 14th album in the series or even the second album in that there series. So, it's a two-fer in a few very different ways.

This week it's 1982's East Of Eden's Gate which very well might continue the story about those sun children. Maybe even Gulliver. You know the story if you read that first BT post from a few weeks ago.

There's no allmusic.com review but a song or two reminded me of a certain band named after those flying ships that aliens use, so that's why it's the red track. Well, it's also pretty darn cool. Any other person picking a "cherry" track or whatever they're calling it this week is nothing but a travesty of a mockery of a sham of a mockery of a travesty of two mockeries of a sham.

East Of Eden's Gate

1. East Of Eden's Gate
2. Edge Of Madness
3. Hold On To Your Dream
4. While You're Still Young
5. No Show Tonight
6. Can't Stand It
7. Nite Rites
8. Crusin' (The Town In The Heat Of The Night)
9. Dogs of War (Flesh And Blood)

Availability: The Rock Candy remaster (featured here) is around $9 for those with Prime.

I own this and there will be an unmockable cherry pick..

Seems you and I have similar shopping habits...  Culture Factory and Rock Candy are great online stores.

"I" Can't Stand It (mistitled in the post) is the really Cherry pick here, but its close as there's not really a bad track here, but since this is the declaration of the masses - which I represent - it is therefore unmockable...

This album is actually quite good and somewhat more accessible than 21st Century Man, but that said, I like the latter a bit better mostly because of the nostalgia attached to it and some of the friends I made whilst listening to it...  This album has no such sentiment its just good on its own merit.

Actually...look at the back of the CD. There's no "I".

And never use the word "whilst" again. You're not British.

Ya know, this morning I went on a rampage and ordered 11 Rock Candy releases, 8 of them I have but now.....THEY'RE REMASTERED!!!!!!

Nice!

Another great album. The title track had bit of an advantage over the rest of the material for me, since it's also included as a bonus track on the CD I have, but there is no bad track here.

I will also give 21st Century Man a nod above this album, but that vinyl was in my possession for a while, while I just heard this one for the first time.

Frank Banali on drums? Wow.

I really enjoyed this one.  The whole album is pretty dang good.  Just wanted to give it a spin without typing while listening or really thinking about what to say.  That worked out well for me.

Looks like I'm gonna have to pick up some Billy Thorpe.
