Chuck Berry.

You can't say he reinvented the wheel on this one, but you have to give him some slack for practically inventing this wheel. I like it. It's what one would expect from a 90 years old Legend. R.I.P.

Jason Isbell

The best thing about singer songwriters is that they don't have to follow the latest trend to sound fresh. Lyrics are their greatest asset and Jason uses his arsenal wisely. The first two songs were interesting. The third and fourth dropped the ball when his focus got blurry, but the last song put them back on track. Even though this style is not my usual purchase candidate, if I'd do music, I wouldn't do anything else but a singer songwriter thing. The ease to relate to the words is the great reward a listener can ask. Nice to see this style getting some well deserved recognition.

Nothing really new here, especially with the first three tracks, but totally satisfying. Really liked the last two songs because they were a bit unexpected. Guess he wouldn't be changing his style after all these years so you'll get what you expect.

I saw Jason Isbell open up a show for John Prine a year or two ago and as much as I like John Prine, Isbell I thought blew him off the stage that night. I was really impressed and have gotten into some of Jason Isbell's music.

Have you listened to Southeastern?  That album is so awesome.

Yes, amazing album. Isbell is the real deal.

First half listen was just ok, but then I went back to it today and liked it more. Not really country, so that's good. I believe this is the second album by him that's been posted and I think I liked the other one. Now, it's not something I would buy because it's another one of those that I can't imagine listening to more than once (if I had the full album) but it's nothing to cast aside. You know, it's not like a couple of dumb sisters plastering their faces over, say, a Pink Floyd logo and selling the shirt for $125 and think it's a good idea.
