You come up with bands I've never heard of before.  Your perspective is interesting.

I'll say this, whoever this band is, I love the heaviness and I love that vocals are clean.  I don't care for the production as its seems far too familiar for Euro Nu-Metal bands.  While I am perfectly cool with similarities across bands, I do like some uniqueness, not sure I hear much of that...  Who are these guys anyway?

Ouch.

Nu-Metal?  You mean the Nu Metal that incorporates hip hop, alternative rock, funk and grunge. I can't hear any of those here (I wouldn't care for it, if I did) but I guess your perspective is just as interesting as mine.

To me they sound more like Accept, Armored Saint and Racer X, but what do I know? I listen to Abba and Boney M.

Euro? No Euro.

They are from the land of maple syrup, back bacon and poutine, but... we get that all the time.

No "ouch" was intended, apologies for coming across that way...

I totally whiffed on the Euro thing, and this from a Canadian rock band lover!!  I absolutely love Accept, I missed that but I get your Armored Saint comparison, I will admit that I really liked their Win Hands Down album, pretty good stuff on there.  And as for Racer X, well... not my cup of tea as they say.

Maybe its the drum machine from hell sound that bogs it down for me...  That's usually a trigger for Euro metal in my mind.  Again what do I know, I'm the AOR guy around here...

No apology needed Scott, it just took me by surprise the Nu-Metal comparison. If the guys from work saw that, I wouldn't hear the end of it. Had to wash my hands from being associated with the genre. Understandably, I hope so.

I do get the Euro vibe you referring to. I think generally the European bands tend to be more melodic than the North American counterparts. So to that end Striker do strike me as a band from Europe as well.

These guy's have been around for a while (this is their 5th album) and they are one of the hardest working bands around here, performing on stage for even a dozen of fans, if that's the case. Perhaps they'll grow on you... and others? At least you can't say any longer, you haven't heard of them before.

Eh. Sounds like typical "let's play really fast" metal that, for a few minutes, was all the rage (thanks, Dragonforce!). Not speed metal, but the other fast stuff. Just seems to me that if you heard this from another band before, you've already heard it. Don't here Accept, don't hear Armored Saint and really don't hear Racer X even though they had a tendency to go....fast.

But, what do I know. I'm the _____ guy around here.....

Youre the Ziltoid man around here...

I think these gifs actually show a sign of a maturing forum for Yngvie...  :-)

So I'm the Boney M guy, Scott's the AOR guy and Jon is the self proclaimed _____ guy around here.

MAN, it's good to be on a Classic Rock Forum discussing Heavy Metal, eh?

We all listen to the same thing and hear a different beat... like a bunch of real professionals.

I don't know how RJhog puts up with all of this? (but I'm glad he does.)

He has no choice. He's just a figurehead.

Not sure what my role is here.

This is melodic.  I'm certainly not the resident metal guy, that's for sure.  Sounds like something I would have liked in the late 80's.  That's not a bad thing.

The first song was pretty good, but it felt like the vocals were overshadowed somewhat by all of the music that was going on.  But they got that straightened out.  The thing I don't like about a lot of modern melodic rock is that it's very cheesy at times.  This wasn't really that way, so there is that.  I'm not crazy about the speed drumming on the last track.

Overall, a decent listen.
