Classic Rock Bottom

After such a beautiful Summer for us here in NYC, it is nice to move into Autumn.
And we have that annual phenomenon to enjoy...Indian Summer!
That will be fully noted in this Closing Half of my Autumn Show.
You can feel the Changes- the days are warm, the nights are cool and great for sleeping.
Plus we see Nature's Color Show.
And let's not forget the Harvest!
I think the best, most delicious crops of tomatoes, corn, apples and more, are being harvested.
I was deeply touched by a particular memory in here, so much so I couldn't speak.
It seems to me this is a nice Episode to snuggle up with someone, maybe have a little mulled wine, and appreciate they are still in your life.
On a chilly Autumn evening!

Yngve,
Come on, I looked it up.
That’s in British Columbia, the warmest province you have, lol!
For the Indian Summer, I’ll go with Brooks & Dunne, but maybe Tommy Dorsey?
You do snow in feet, thank you!
 Everything else in BEER...hahahahahahaha!
I know you guys can drink, I spent time knocking down that stronger beer with the lads in the Maritimes.
Bread for my horses, beer for me, lol!

I'm in Sunny Okanagans, but this year the snow came early. Luckily, today there was little bit of rain, so it washed the snow away. If I'd knew that, I wouldn't shovel it.

Hmm... If you didn't figure out the Indian Summer song I know, I will put it up in one of the future LTTPs. Will let you know, when that happens.

Well yeah, we measure distance in metric, snow in feet, everything else in... beer. For example, a loaf of bread costs half a beer and a shovel is about 5 beers now and 2 beers in the spring (after season sale).

Yngve,
Hahahahahaha, I wasn’t!
Had to shovel your way from Snow to Show, lol!
Where are you in the Great White North that you have snow already?
I know it’s been very cold in Edmonton.
Yes, I played 5 Indian Summers, and how many people can do that, lol?
But they exhausted my knowledge, I can’t think of another one you know!
Shoveling 4 feet of snow in a half hour,  it fits perfectly into a half show full of warm music!
How could that be cheating in any way?
And that host fella, he’s damn good- he exudes Warmth, lol!
You Canadians speak Metric, I don’t!
Glad you put snow in feet for me, lol!
Thanks for the listen and writing,
Mike

RJ,
I like Al Stewart, and Year Of The Cat is a good one.
But give a listen to a very early song by him, Nostrodamus- I keep meaning to play it on a show.
All those recognizable voices but not necessarily known songs, back porch, cool breeze...I can dig that with a beer, lol!
And the 2nd Golden Pell in a while goes to Poco!
My fave of the litter, lol!
How about that Oliver Hardy?
Most people upon hearing Forever Autumn think it’s the Moody Blues, and I am positive Hayward has the band playing with him on it.
It’s TOO Moody Blues, lol!
Yeah those songs choked me up!
Thanks for the listen and writing,
Mike

Jon,
When you are not mowing & manicuring your lawn, you are raking leaves.
IT NEVER STOPS, LOL!
WHAT A MAN!!!
Thanks for the listen and writing, hey did you like anything specific, lol?

Indian Summer. Sure. Right off the bat, rub it in.

You know how I spent my time listen to your radio? Well, let me tell you. Shoveling snow. Yep, it's been an Eskimo Winter here, (is that a thing? If not let's make a song) for about two weeks now. Therefore, I can say that listening to your program was literally a chore for me.

Another thing. You played 5 Indian Summer's. Not one. Not two. Not three. Not four, but 5 Indian Summer and neither one of them was the one I know. Well, I know ONLY one Indian Summer, because my Father used to play it. Here is a trivia for you. Going by what I just said, can you figure out which song I'm referring to?

Perhaps, I shouldn't complain, since it could be worse. Like shoveling 8 feet of snow instead of 4 feet and then running out of music half way through. Oh yeah, that's a thing. I shovel 8 feet of snow / per hour. We Canadians have measuring units for everything. At least the music was warm. I don't know if that counts as cheating or not?

I can tell immediately that the first song is by Al Stewart.  I've never been a big fan, but I just featured Year of the Cat in the Album of the Week forum.  His voice is very recognizable.  Joe Walsh's voice is also very recognizable. That can really make you feel at home, sitting on your back porch, cool, rustling Autumn breeze, listening to recognizable voices.  Jim Morrison.   Drink a beer.  Like Jon said, pick up some leaves.

The Poco song didn't have that familiar voice for me.  I wasn't sure who that was, but I liked the song enough to overnight a Golden Pell to Poco.

Neil Young.  Familiar voices.  Justin Hayward of The Moody Blues.  I thought it was The Moody Blues, but from Justin Hayward solo.  Great song.  Really hits home.

Now this was pleasant. Makes me wantto go out and pick up leaves in an hour or two.

That's what I'm going to do.

Pick up leaves.

With a mower.

In the 40's.

I'm a man.
