Classic Rock Bottom

WHAT CLASSIC ROCK (OR JUST PLAIN ROCK) ARE YOU LISTENING TO?

So what are you listening to right now?  Any genre is cool.

I remember reading the line up prior to the release for "Baptizm Of Fire" and thinking, with Cozy Powell and Billy Sheehan, that might be a dream formation. The first weekend the album came out, I put my kids in the car, and drove up to Regina, SK, to buy the CD. I was very excited to hear it. Then, when I unwrapped it, I noticed that this line-up only played on two tracks. Disappointed by the fact, I skimmed through tracks quickly, and left the CD on a "later" pile, for another day. Another day... LOL. It took me 23 years to give it a proper spin. Damn. 23 years "later". Time flies. I can't believe it. Anyway, I love the Instrumental title track (really a great tune, with Don Airey on it too), but other than that, your assessment of being simply OK is correct. Wonder if it would have sounded better if CP and B. Sheehan played on the whole album?

I used to own "Intuition" on LP, back home. So, when I bought the CD, I wasn't in a hurry to listen to it, hence why it ended up on a "later" pile. Hearing it in full after 30 years again, I have to say the new experience is somewhat less remarkable than what it used to be. Wisdom is still my favorite track, but in my opinion, that should have been the only ballad there. I find the album quite mellow, and the two short intros are absolutely ridiculous. I wish LeTekro (in top form here) had more exposure.

But I'm looking forward to your thoughts.

I did a Cassette Chronicles article on that Tora Tora album.

I don't have that Bernie Torme album but I'd love to hear it someday. I once spent a few months exchanging emails with Torme and it was a real kick.

Jon,

I've got the Black Sabbath album Dehumanizer and love it.

I also have that Riot Fire Down Under, which seems to be an album a lot of people call the band's best, but I was rather underwhelmed by it.
