Okay, you are being sent away to a deserted island to live out the rest of your life.  Luckily for you, this deserted island has electricity, and you get to choose one of the decades above for all of your musical needs.  But you can only pick one.  And remember, if your favorite band produced a lot of music in more than one decade, you can only take the music that comes from the decade you pick.  So which one is it and why?

***Please note, this key artists roster is in no way a complete list of bands that were popular in the respective decade, and some bands are definitely on more than one decade’s list.  I apologize ahead of time if I left your favorite band off of the list.

The 70's has allways been my favorite decade in music. Most of my favorite bands/albums/songs comes from that decade, so it's an easy choise for me. I'll miss my Beatles albums for sure, but I guess I can take "Let it be" with me, and that's better than no Beatles at all.
This is a very tough choice for me. You see, my favorite band Kiss produced their best music in the 70's. And overall, the 70's are loaded with great music. But for me, I'll have to go with the 80's (and I still Unmasked, Music From The Elder, Killers, Creatures of the Night, Lick It Up, Animalize, Asylum, Crazy Nights and Hot In The Shade). I really grew up in the 80's. I was 13 on the first day of the 80's and 23 on the last day. I got to see all of my favorite bands on MTV because that's when MTV didn't suck. And I still got to listen to all of that 70's music. Yep, I'd definitely take the 80's with me if I went to that island.
Actually, The Killers compilation and the Thrashes, Smashes and Hits compilation (which both had new studio tracks as well as previously released material) both came out in the 80's and also had some of Kiss' more popular songs from the 70's, so it's almost win-win for me.
Hmmmmm, does that mean, that I can take The Beatles "red" and "blue"-albums with me. They were released in 1973 (I think).
I say yes!! But only if they have newly recorded studio tracks....
Well, that's a no, then.
70's by a longshot. So many artists that have ade an impact to this day (not saying the 60's haven't) but you have those groups listed above as well as Thin Lizzy, Deep Purple, UFO, Blue Oyster Cult, Kansas, AC/DC, Judas Priest, Heart, Foreigner, Styx, some of The Who, Yes....should I go on?
I'll take the 70's please.
70's because of kiss, led zeppelin, and van halen
Easily the 70's... Your 80's list has seeral artists that were 70's as well...
That's why I went out on a limb and took the 80's, although I think in general the 70's were better. But in the 80's I get a little of all of 'em, while in the 70's I get nobody from the 80's. That's part of my warped thinking.
