So what are you listening to right now? Any genre is cool.
For me:
Scott's Hidden Treasure
Depeche Mode - Wrong (courtesy of Niels)
Kim Mitchell - Akimbo Alogo (courtesy of Jon)
Next week's Album of the Week (hint: think orchestra)
Shinedown - The Sound of Madness

I picked up that new Ozzy Osbourne album.
I have the Kiss, Culture Club, Bruce Hornsby And The Range, Judas Priest, Y&T and AC/DC albums.
How is that One Way Home album from The Hooters?
I think it's their best album. A bit darker than Nervous Night plus it's a bit heavier.
Thanks. If I can find a copy I might just check it out.
With the end of listing my For Sale items, I thought I was done posting albums I listen to.
My intention was to go back and listen to a healthy mix of individual songs on my mp3 player, which contains tracks ripped from the albums I would take with me to a deserted Island. Those are whole albums I don't need to listen to again because I heard them before, I LOVE them, (hence the Island reference), I took note of what songs I liked most and got them "digitized" for a mixed-in consumption, however... Something happened, that wasn't the first time it happened to me, and I decided to give these albums a proper, and long overdue cataloging.
Last week I received a picture vinyl I recently ordered. I know I had my picture vinyl grouped and on the shelf with the rest of my "Island" vinyls, which aren't that many, to be honest, about 1/3 of the shelf altogether, solely LPs that have never been issued on CDs, yet for the life of me, I could NOT find them. This happened to me before with CDs as well. Now the CDs are many and housed in double jewel cases to save room, but my LPs??? Just mindboggling. I don't have "friends" who borrow without my knowledge, nor was any burglary done, so where were they? Took EVERYTHING off the cabinet. Moved the cabinet to look behind even though it made no sense for anything to be there. Went to my other LP pile, did the same thing, and found nothing. I thought I was going mad. Well, I was mad just didn't know at whom or what? Things don't just disappear, yet there was no sign of my picture vinyls.
And then, a week later, as I was just about to voluntarily admit myself to a nut-house, I saw them. Sitting on the shelf all this time right in front of me, just waiting to poke my eyes out. You see, last time I got a picture vinyl it came in a box of perfect dimensions, neatly fitting into my shelf. So I decided to keep it and store all my picture vinyls together in that same box. Why haven't I noticed it? Because I have the Pink Floyd box set, for a long time in a similar cardboard box sitting right beside it, and my mind/eyes didn't register/process that it is 2 boxes, not 1, anymore. Crazy huh? Well, this means I got to get through my Island pile, something I've been putting aside for probably as long as I was doing it with my "Later" pile, and catalog the music I would certainly take with me onto a desrted Island.
Some time ago, I posted a small taste of my "Island" collection, but that was just the tip of the iceberg of what's all in there, after all, if I'd go to an Island I'd stay there until... well a day before my retirement. And then I would just retire the next day. Wouldn't that be nice, eh? Man can only dream, and I need a comprehensive index of things of music nature I have for the unlikely event of winning the lottery jackpot and taking a permanent vacation. I'll start next week. Since I don't need to listen to the whole album, because the songs I like from these albums are already ripped, I just skim through the "deep cuts" and see if I missed anything. I'm hoping to inventory 100 items/week, but that might be a tall order, so Que Sera, Sera.
