Here's my description of this release.  It sucks.  So many releases like this have at least an attempt at some decent bonus material.  Not this one.  It has one bonus track that's basically the same as the original.  It has an alternate guitar solo on one track (Sweet Pain) that is awful.  No wonder it was not on the original.

But wait, there's more.  How 'bout that original artwork?  Don't get me wrong, it's cool, but the artwork that ended up being used is better.  You guys know me, I'm a big fan of Kiss' music.  But I can't believe that this is anything more than a money grab.  Of course, you get the obligatory booklet featuring Bob Ezrin's take on how great the new Destroyer sounds.  Trust me, there is absolutely nothing wrong with the sound of the original.

There is a slight hiccup on Flaming Youth.  At the beginning it almost sounds like the album skips.  But this isn't an album.  And I can't hear much difference in the remixes.

This could have been much better.  A few demos would have been great.  Maybe a complete concert from this era.  Oh well, maybe one day.  For now, don't waste your money.  And for the record, I wasn't gonna waste my money either.  But my dumb ass saw it in FYE one day and just had to pick it up.

I really don't like that little tick at the beginning of Flaming Youth!  And there's more of these little ticks in the drumming on Great Expectations (See around 2:39 and compare to the original).  The Flaming Youth issue is pretty bad though, so to release this with that mistake is really telling.  Oh yeah, that alternate Sweet Pain geetar work is awful.

But...

I do like a lot of the "remix" sounds.  Do You Love Me drums are much nicer! and the bass lines really stand out.

But alas, your right, this could have been a really cool package and they saw dollar signs and rushed it, and that's the overriding feeling I get after listening to it.  Hard Core collectors will buy everything they do, and at one time I was that guy too, but Ive really grown tired of this type of inconsideration for the fans and so the band loses, but once the band put Criss' and Frehley's makeup on Singer and Thayer they became a brand and ceased being a serious band IMO.

I was curious about some of the drum ticks I was hearing so Ive done some sampling between my "original" Destroyer and this Resurrected version.  Seems they've cleaned up a lot, scratch that, all of the drumming and added extra drum kicks in every track.

I only downloaded it from Itunes so I could burn a CD with the new song Hell Or Halleluiah and It's My Life (that I also got from Itunes) on a CD. Yes, it sounds almost the same as the original Destroyer. I'm glad I only downloaded it, and didn't buy it.

How much did you pay for the real CD?

I am waiting for Monster.

It was 10 bucks.

Interesting is what I gots to say. For some reason, it sounded hollow, but clearer. Know what I mean? Plus there seemed to be more sound effects? Me being a Kiss expert and all that, that's what I heard. Even with sounding hollow, it didn't sound bad, just strange. Clear and hollow. Yeah, that's it. Other than that, it sounded like Destroyer, whcih I have, so why bother with this?

Thanks for posting though, I was curious on what the big thang was. And now I know, I guess.
