Classic Rock Bottom

This week we wrap up our run thru Zebra's catalog (for now) with China Rain's "Bed Of Nails". released in 1991.

Featuring Randy Jackson (geetar/vocals), Teddy Cook (bass/vocals), Ronnie Snow (more geetars/vocals) and Brian Tichy (drums/vocals), think of this as a heavier Zebra, yet with the same melodic touch.

Assisting on the album are Mark Slaughter, Dave "Snake" Sabo, Rachel Bolan and Jeff Scott Soto (listed as Jeff Scott, Soto for some reason), but this is definitely a Randy Jackson effort.

Sadly this album disappeared without a trace since some kind of new music was poking it's ugly head out of the ground. That's why you have me!

I could swear I posted this before, so if it sounds familiar, sorry. Also, tough. Listen to it again. You've obviously not listened to it in a long time.

China Rain is okay.  Nothing special but not bad.  I really like the last track Love Calls, but other than that it's kind of unremarkable.  I like Zebra's IV better.

Jon, you suck at guitar.

Did not care for this avlum

WTH!!!  Did you receive your new Estaban electric geetar in the mail?

That was Pat Metheny on geetar on the special bonus, except for the last track which is from the movie "Thief". If you didn't make it that far, just check out that one track, it's pretty good.

Just wanted Scott to get all pissy that I had the Deep Purple album and crank it up out of anger and have that geetar just rip apart his ears. Hey, I thought it was funny.

What's sadder is that I very excitedly went straight to what I thought would be new Deep Purple music!

And you laughed. Admit it!

Randy Jackson ...

I think there's an abundance of talent in America and there will never be not a lot of talent out there.  Kelly, Kelly, Kelly. I love your voice man, you give me chills... Brilliant.  If it's music, I love it.  I feel it's my responsibility to turn people on to great music.  It's amazing what it's done for the music business, even though a lot of record companies don't want to admit it.  I can't touch Simon anymore.  It wasn't good for me.  I like you dude, you're definitely in the dog pound for real.

All joking aside, this was as cliché as these quotes were from the other Randy Jackson...  Not for me...

What's sad is you have watched American Idol, taken notes from American Idol and are now quoting American Idol. Sad state of affairs.

I googled for his quotes...  Haven't watch that show in years...

Yeah, sure.

Just going back through some old posts...and ran across this "bonus" Deep Purple. Was really excited to hear this new one (without buying it first), and all I can say is....that's just MEAN! Dirty! Deceitful! Perhaps kind of funny (well, if the joke is not on you!!)...but in the end, somewhat rewarding and refreshing...as I now know there is at least someone out there who plays guitar as bad as I do. Thanks for the uplift Jon!
