You don't like The Grateful Dead yet you bought a Bob Weir album? That doesn't make sense.....

Maybe that's Scott. I don't know, I guess.

I used to not like the GD.  I wouldn't say I'm a huge fan, but I do have a bit more appreciation for them these days.  And, it was an impulse buy.  Just looked like something that might appeal to me musically since I'm so old.  Haven't listened to it yet.

Neil Young--Thumbs In the middle, going down

This just sounds like a mess. He's sounded like a mess before and that stuff is awesome, but this is just a bad mess. Sounds like it was hurriedly thrown together and there's that fargin' auto-tune crap which makes my thumbs go even lower. I've read a very bad review about this album as well as a positive one and the very bad one is definitely winning out.

Bob Weir--Thumbs Down

Made me quite drowsy. Wasn't interesting at all and also waaaaay too countryish. Admire the guy, but this is not in my wheelhouse.

NEIL YOUNG - Actually, I hadn't planned to listen to this album at all. I love Neil Young, but allmost only his output until around the mid-70's. Back then he was an awesome genius. I have listened to some of the later albums, but was always disspointed and/or bored...except for the awesome song from the early 90's: "Harvest Moon". But you, Jeff, put me on to this album, and now I've heard it once. The first song was very good, but then it turned out to be slightly boring, meaning the songs doesn't differ that much from each other, at least not after only one listening. I could had used one or two "fast" tracks among those songs. Not that they are bad, just only okay, I guess. I might give it another try, but I doubt, it's what I "need" these days. I don't listen that much to Tom Waits anymore, and listening to this album got me thinking about Waits several times. It sounds like he's very political on this album, but I might be wrong. Lyrics are not that important to me. Compared to Dylan, Young still got his voice, and that's certainly a plus. If I'd be in the right state of mind, I probably would had loved this album, but I guess it should had been a few years back, where I was a major Waits-, Dylan- and (early) Young-fan. That was before I turned in to a Prog-head.

For me, Neil Young was always hit or miss. I either really liked the song or couldn't stand it. This one gets a thumbs down for me and so does the Bob Weir.
