I am a fan of the album cover!  That's great!  And I think I've heard this band before but the familiarity stops with the band name as no music comes to mind, also - apparently there is some collusion going on around here with 90's bands this week...

Rainbow Machine has a decent start but it becomes redundant and repetitive pretty quickly  (see what I did there? kinda like the song) ...

Kosmos (Grooves of Triumph) doesn't remind me of Triumph at all, too bad to, it would've made this second run-on song much better.

Big Daddy - I think I'm getting the style of the band, find a riff and stick with it! While this is the shortest track so far, it feels like the longest.

Anubis... You have my attention!  That acoustic sounds like Anathema which I really dig!  But this isn't Anathema and it does lose me after a couple of minutes.

Silvio - not really sure what I can say that I already haven't.  Doing so would be redundant and repetitive as this song is giving me Deja-vu

So in summary..

  • Album cover is cool
  • collusion abounds
  • Songs are long
  • and redundant
  • seems to run on
  • and is repetitive
  • nice acoustic track
  • getting deja-vu
  • have a weird feeling I'm repeating myself...

Amplifier - Thumbs Up

Yep, this is pretty good.  Not sure if it's good enough to purchase for me, but I definitely like it.  Especially the tracks that add female vocals.  Those are fantastic.

It rumbles along at the exact same post through the first 3 songs, but that fourth track, although even slower, is totally different.  The acoustic guitar makes my mind think of a song like Dust In The Wind.

The lead guitar playing is quite nice.

Put a little bit of flute on that last track and you'd have something inspired by Jethro Tull meets Tool.

This is the best Amplifier I've heard featured on this site.  I believe Niels kicked the Amplifier party off, is that right Jon?  I just can't remember because I'm old and I have a bad memory.  Seems like the first one was Octopus.

Either way, this was enjoyable.  Maybe I'll listen again soon.

Yeah, it was The Octopus around 5 years ago or so?

Huh, wuuuutttt?  What am I missing? or is this part of the bigger collusioning plan?

Meh.

Nothing for me here. The flow of these tracks are slower than molasses in January. If a band is going to venture into 6 minute marks, better have a damn interesting and long guitar solo... or keyboard solo... or guitar/keyboard solo. I can't hear any of that here.

I got bored so I started moving my fingernail over the titles covering up few letter to see if anything weird comes up. Maybe some Satanic messages. When I got to track #4 the two letters I covered made the rest look pretty funny.

What can I say, I'm easily amused... but hard to sell on this.

What is this exactly? I couldn't figure out the genre.

Is this Nu-Metal?

Definitely not nu-metal.

Yngve, I love the Nu-Metal question.  I feel like it was directed at Scott...
