Electronic Dance collaboration from Wishbone Ash… That’s a sentence I never expected to type. But weirder yet, they followed this up with yet another Electronic/Techno album. Sometimes the reasons an album is Lost/Forgotten are obvious, such is the case this week… I’m going to go out on a limb here, these may be must haves for hardcore fans to fill out the colleciton, but I’m betting this was largely ignored as it seems like an Andy Powell pet project.
I’ll go out on another limb and say they’ll be no RED track this week… Yup, I was right.
I’ll give you major kudos for keeping it interesting.
No.
No mixed feelings here. This is a cold shower in the middle of a blizzard.
Who the heck thought it'll work? People who like trance will not buy it, because it's Wishbone Ash and Wishbone Ash fans will not buy it, because it's trance.
Well, thank God for hard core supporters like Jon, but for most of us this is rather a Transgression.
Sad, really.
Now look what that did.
Wow...best way to describe this...not rock. Not at all what I would expect from a Wishbone Ash album. Hey, at least I'm not complaining about the vocals. I read the article that you linked. The author speaks of building rhythms and rave style drum/bass patterns from the guitar work. I don't remember hearing any lead guitar at all. I guess that was the plan, but it wasn't the least bit interesting to me.
It did help me take a pretty decent nap this afternoon when I listened to it. So that's a positive. I'm still giving Shooter Jennings the nod out of the last three posts I've listened to.
