Classic Rock Bottom

If you are anything like me, you love a great lyric that comes across when you are listening to music.  All genres can certainly contain great lyrical passages that often really mean something to you.

I would like to see a bunch of those lyrics posted here.  Preferably from the classic rock and classic metal genres.  That includes all subdivisions of rock music, like progressive rock or folk rock or country rock or power pop.  Also preferably fairly short passages, not paragraphs or sixty word sentences.

Everybody post up to five of your favorite lyrics below…

I love this one that I heard last night:

”I stood arrow straight, unencumbered by the weight of all these hustlers and they’re schemes” - Bob Seger (Like A Rock)

“Lonely is only a place” - Cheap Trick (If You Want My Love)

“You can check out any time you like, but you can never leave” - Eagles (Hotel California)

I’ve got dozens of friends and the fun never ends, that’s as long as I’m buying
Too Much Time On My Hands - Styx
They say I’m lazy, but it takes all my time
Life’s Been Good - Joe Walsh
Freedom's just another word for nothing left to lose. Nothing ain't nothing, but
it's free. Me And Bobby McGee - Janis Joplin
I was so much older then, I'm younger than that now. My Back Pages - Bob Dylan
If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice. Freewill - Rush
I understand about indecision, but I don't care if I get behind. People living in
competition, all I want is to have my peace of mind. Peace Of Mind - Kansas
