Classic Rock Bottom

Week #5 (8/8/10) from....that Jon guy

Y&T - Facemelter (May 2010)

1. How Long

2. I Want your Money

3. Blind Patriot

4. Gonna Go Blind

5. Don't Bring Me Down

Took a couple listens, but it's grown on me. Still think "Earthshaker"/"Black Tiger"/"Mean Streak" are the definitive Y&T albums, but this one is pretty good.

Molly Hatchet - Justice (June 2010)

1. Been To Heaven-BeenTo Hell

2. American Pride

3. Fly On Wings Of Angels (Somer's Song)

4. Vengeance

5. Justice

Putting out music for 30+ years now, this album doesn't spoil the good name of Molly Hatchet. Track #3 was written in memory of Somer Thompson (her sister sings the intro) and could "Vengeance" be the heaviest Hatchet song ever?

In This Moment - A Star-Crossed Wastelend (July 2010)

1. The Gun Show

2. A Star-Crossed Wasteland

3. Blazin

4. The Last Cowboy

5. World In Flames

Maria Brink has an incredible voice, but beware----some may not like the screaming vocals, but stick around. There's a couple ballads, and the range she has will blow you away. If "World In Flames" doesn't get to you, you're dead.

"If "World In Flames" doesn'nt get to you, you're dead". Is that a thread??
Not that I know of, but you made it into a poem!
I think I like the Molly Hatchet's songs the best. But you're right. "World in Flames" is not bad at all. I could'nt hear it here though, so I found it on Youtube.
Looking forward to the Molly Hatchet tunes. I just realized a couple of days ago that they had a new album out.

I have Y&T, it hasn't grown on me yet. I do like the first track on the disc, On With The Show.

I'm not a fan of screaming vocals, but I'll check out In The Moment shortly.
Molly Hatchet was pretty good.
Love "Vengeance". Starts mellow and then just kicks some serious butt.
Wow Jon, In This Moment rocks! I'm not a fan of the screaming, but even the song "The Gun Show" is awesome. I can only imagine how it would sound without the screaming. I also really liked "A Star-Crossed Wasteland" and "The Last Cowboy".

And without a doubt, "World In Flames" is a fantastic song with an unbelievable vocal performance by Maria Brink.

Nice, nice pick. Despite the screaming vocals, I might get this one.
Maybe this will entice you to buy........

Okay, a few things:

1. Holy Crap!

2. Is the blond in the video Maria Brink? My assumption is that the answer is yes. But it could be an actress.

3. Despite all that screaming, that's a rockin' song and would be a great workout song (if I ever work out again). I'll be picking this up, probably this week.
Yep, that be her.
ok, finally catching up a bit on all the new posts. Love it!!!

I have the Y&T also, and for me its not clicking either... I keep trying though...

Lovin' the Hatchet, Didnt think I woudl though, I prefer the Danny Joe Bronw led version, an still do, but this isnt bad at all...

And let me show my age a bit... Ive tried to get past the screamin, sorry... It's not working. But i love the music and she is very hot, so I like the video as well, especially on mute! LOL!
The current Molly Hatchet vocalist seems to try and sound like DJB, even though he's really not. The last few albums with him have kind of bugged me in a way since he sounds too like DJB, but not really. Not bad albums at all, but that thought is always stuck in the back of my head.
