Classic Rock Bottom

Funny thing, I didn't realize yesterday would be Columbus Day until after 5 in the afternoon last Friday, as I was talking to a girl and she mentioned it.
I probably would have gone to work, something that could have happened on the Seinfeld show, lol!
All things considered, Seinfeld was probably the funniest Television show ever.
And I was thinking, it would not have worked in any city other than New York!
Think about that...there's just no way- the apartments, stores, restaurants, streets, movies, etc.
The CHARACTERS are New York!
A few sound bites from the show and more of the music of Nothing, as I carry on with this odd topic.
And I will get to Christopher Columbus in the next and final chapter.
I think you'll like this one.

Here's the link to more Nothing (sounds strange doesn't it, lol?), at WLSO.FM:

RJ aka Captain Obvious,
Sorry for the delay, been busy.
So my greatest ever...high praise indeed, and now how do I live up to that, lol?
I knew long ago I would play Billy Preston on the Nothing show, I was just waiting for the right time.
Yes I played Kiss, I liked that Nothing To Lose the minute I heard it.
And I owe that to you.
I also know what it is about- I owe that to you too, lol!
Nothing On But The Radio has a sound that hooked me in when I first heard it on the radio some years ago, don't really know much else by the guy.
Oh man I love the Vandelay Industries episode...George comes running out with his pants down, lol!
You could do a lot worse than Stevie Wonder, give him a good listen.
The Golden Pell for "I Who Have Nothing", I'll take it, lol!
But I am shocked...shocked I tell you...that you've never heard it before- it's a CLASSIC!
For shame!
Nothing Succeeds Like Success, so I HAD to mention you.
And I always suspected you were handsome.
Now ask me if I care, lol!
Thanks for listening and writing Captain,
Mike

Mike,

What a show!  Your greatest ever!

I wondered if you'd get around to Billy Preston.  Of course you did, you are the musicologist, I'm just an underling.

I can't believe you played a Kiss song.  Nothing To Loose is awesome.  You know, it is actually about "something".  I won't say what.

I was totally surprised by the song that followed as well.  Nothing On But The Radio is a really cool song from Gary Allan.  He is one of the few current country artists that I really like.  Great pick.

The George clip was fantastic.  The Vandelay Industries bit was brilliant.   One of the funniest shows ever.  I always thought the "I think it moved" bit as well.

Stevie Wonder has a great voice.  I've said it before, I'll say it again, I have to pick up some of his material.

...and the Golden Pell goes to...Ben E. King for his performance of "I Who Have Nothing".  That's fantastic and a song I've never heard before.

Nothing Succeeds Like Success...Thank you Captain Obvious.  My wife says that all the time (the Captain Obvious part), so I had to mention it here.

Great show my friend.  And thanks for the mention.  By the way, I'm extremely handsome.
