ROCKOLLECTIONS: 1967 AND SUMMER OF LOVE PT.10

The Theme for Rockollections much of this Summer has been a return to 1967 for the Summer Of Love.

I have two stories in this chapter, each prompting the playing of two songs.
One about a girl I knew who was probably the first I thought was beautiful, but at my age then I was too young and timid to tell her.
Another is about Phasing, or Flanging, as an effect in Music that doesn't seem to be used much anymore (at least I haven't noticed it).
In between stories, I decided to truly Free-Form it, and just wander through my Music Library picking out 1967 songs that I like or have a memory for me.
I made some picks...Hits, Album Cuts, songs not played on commercial Radio in years...and all interesting to say the least.
Hopefully, you will enjoy the results of the Muse that guided me!

As always, those necessary links in order to hear this, your pick of one or the other, to Mike Pell Rockollections:

Yngve,
I was never a hippie, too young for that.
Never ribbons on any part of me.
Did grow a porn moustache when I could, lol!
As for dancing, I was damn good- and we operated on the knowledge that if the girl would dance fast with you, she’d be there later for the slow. sexual grind!
All part of the master plan!
Yeah, I like my stories...music too, lol!
Thanks for the listen and writing,
Mike

Jon,
How could it be a repeat when I said 50th Anniversary?
Actually good memory!
Here’s the deal- I went on vacation, so I edited some old shows to make them seem current, adding new intros.
Simple as that- work should never interfere with vacation, lol!
You’re sharp though!
Thanks for the listen and writing,
Mike

This was probably the best show you put on. It reminded me of the music my Father used to listen. Yes, he liked faster tracks and I'm glad you left out the nya-nya songs.

You got to watch out with your stories thou. This is radio, so I have to create my own images to match your stories and here is how I saw you hopelessly trying to impress that girl:

I wanted to imagine you as a kid, but I couldn't. I only know your face from your avatar, so that's what you look like, OK? Well, sort of. You are in your seventies (or whatever the age you are in) with a red ribbon (see what happens when you play red songs) tied around your forehead. You have a porn mustache (I was wondering where did your beard go, but that would be revealed later) and you are dancing to impress that girl you knew. You aren't a very good dancer. (or you just want to dance like hippies do) You are dancing with your eyes closed, soaking in the music that linger around you in a wavering move of endless circles like the inflatable tube man, with your arms raised high above your head. Now here is the gross part. Your beard invaded your armpits. The bushy gray hair is so long, it curls in and out from the velocity of your dancing, tickling your nostrils while you try to suppress a mother of a sneeze. I can't see the girl, but your surrounding is getting populated with people looking at each other in bewilderment and asking themselves, WTF is this guy doing? However, you are disconnected from your environment, dancing the night away, like there is nothing else but your porn mustache.

Well, maybe your next story will inspire a different image. On the upside, it can't get any worse, unless you liked it, in which case it's all good.

Ok.

This has to be a repeat. I remember that story about you and the girl and also about the flanging or whatever.

I also remember mentioning a documentary about the Cowsills that I mentioned.

So, what's the dealio?
