ROCKOLLECTIONS: 4TH OF JULY 2015 PT.1

My forgetting to turn the Calendar Page, as is often the case, breaks up the Here Comes Summer shows.
I discovered we are just days away from Independence Day...or the 4th Of July for those who haven't connected them!
And as always, I try to present these Rockollections shows with a slightly different look at things.
Hopefully, that works out to a surprise or two for you.
I was raised in a household where Love Of Country was very important- it is in my DNA.
No matter what!
Enjoy the Music, I'll do my thing!

RJ,
No, John Wayne does not mention Georgia anywhere in there.
But don't feel bad, New York has no useful docks anymore, so we're out, lol!
I am neutral about Alan Jackson, but you can see why this song worked for the set, coming after All American Boy.
Agreed bro, Johnny Cash is always good to hear!
That Chuck Berry song, that's the Original- all others are covers.
Nice call on Springsteen-  you could immediately tell by the intro, and there's not much intro, lol!
I appreciate you paying attention, can't be easy when you listen at work.
So Mellencamp 2 times in 3 weeks, and Springsteen twice in 2 weeks, both from same albums.
Good pick for the Golden Pell to Chuck Berry, it was either him or Cash, with the Byrds a dark horse.
With all that has been going on, it was the toughest 4th of July Show I have ever done.
I am seeing freedoms taken away almost daily.
I bet you will not hear it in Part 2- I am professional enough to hide feelings- but I couldn't wait for the show to be over and didn't really know what to say when it was.
Thanks for the listen and writing,
Mike

Jon,
Now how could a show be mellow with Chuck Berry in it, lol?
With the Byrds, grabbing some ass makes me laugh!
I like frogs, don't worry about running them over or them rising up.
You on the other hand, need to worry about ALL species rising up against you, lol!
Yeah, I caught that at Soundcloud, couldn't be more like a song I would NEVER play!
Soundcloud seems to be run by assholes, they give me a hard time now and then, that's why you periodically see Spreaker instead.
Thanks for the listen and writing,
Mike

Let me ask you a question about that John Wayne track.  First, remember that I listened at work, and although I'd like to pay perfect attention, I can't always do so.  My question is did he mention Georgia anywhere in there?  If not, I don't like him anymore...just kiddin' of course.  But I really didn't hear Georgia mentioned.  Maybe 'cause we suck.

Not a big fan of Alan Jackson.  Only a couple of his songs work for me.  This one was okay.

But you know I like Johnny Cash, don't you?  He's always good to hear.

Loved the Chuck Berry song.  I've heard the song, but I think that's the first time I've heard his version of it. Nicely played.

Springsteen.  Although I've never heard that song (as far as I can remember), I could immediately tell, even before the first vocal, that it was The Boss.  The into just had that Sringsteen sound.

Mellencamp.  Now that's two tracks you've played from his Plain Spoken album lately.  See, I do pay some attention.

Nice show overall.  Golden Pell to Chuck Berry.

Pretty mellow show until that last song. I don't know why, but the line about cutting the grass made me laugh. I actually like cutting the grass but I get a little bit concerned that I might run over a frog. I don't think I have, I don't want them rising up.

Anyway, nice show. If you don't close out on Soundcloud, your show is followed by some techno dance song. It doesn't fit in, believe me.
