ROCKOLLECTIONS: 60'S CHRISTMAS PARTY PT.1

Is there a better time of year in the World than Christmas?
Of course not!
It's Wonderful.
So it is time for the Annual Rockollections Christmas Party.
The Theme Within A Theme this year is the 1960’s- ALL songs played this week will be from the 60’s, unless I foul up, lol!
Included is a group that called themselves Christmas Spirit- made up of Mark Volman and Howard Kaylan of the Turtles along with Linda Ronstadt.
They made one single in 1968, and I’ll play it.
Plus much much more.
It’s not the Same Old Same Old Christmas songs on this show.
It never is, so please join me for a listen.

RJ,
Good you saw what I did there, lol!
Lately I like to mix in some non-Christmas songs for some spice- not that I don't have enough obscure Christmas songs, but for the element of surprise.
I have another Christmas For Cowboys, might play it since I haven't done 2nd show yet.
You thought The Turtles were the Beach Boys, I can see that- with that greedy little twit, lol!
Wailers spelled right, and I thought they sounded like Bob Dylan too, called it Dylan-like.
That's a good one, and it gets the Golden Pell!
Nice pick!
But I feel like I am off my game this year, too many things happened.
Thanks for the listen and writing,
Mike

Jon,
Yeah, that's why I called him a greedy little twit.
I liked when Santa said OH NO, lol!
And again this year, you are not in the Christmas spirit!
Here's proof, "We don't put up anything. Not one light, not one teeny tine wreath.....NOTHING."
What a guy!
I do agree with you about the Halloween candy, and quality stuff too eh.
Your comments have turned into homespun tales that are enjoyable, lol!
Thanks for the listen, writing and ranting,
Mike

I see what you did there...you know, with the first four songs having "wonderful" in the title.  But they didn't really sound like Christmas songs...but I still see what you did there.

I'm not really a big fan of traditional Christmas songs.  What I do like are the one's that aren't often played. I'm pretty sure that you introduced me to John Denver's Christmas For Cowboys.  That's the kind I like.

I thought The Turtles were the Beach Boys.  And I thought the Wailers (however you spell that) sounded like Bob Dylan.  And that's who get's the Golden Pell.  Nice job Mike.

Most of these songs are familiar, but I have to agree and that "kid" wanting all that crap from Santa was annoying. It was funny, but annoying.

Nope, I'm not in the Christmas spirit. I lose it around my birthday when the neighbors are putting up the Xmas light and crap. It's too early. 12 days before, 12 days after. That's the friggin' rule.

That's ok, though. We don't put up anything. Not one light, not one teeny tine wreath.....NOTHING.

Our new neighbors across the street have their house all decked out in holiday crap and I don't care because they refused to take Halloween candy from us. Try to be nice and they refuse and it was quality candy! Not the cheap stuff! They can go to hell.

Maybe I lost my Xmas spirit on Halloween, all because of them. Jerks.

Hey, nice show though.
