ROCKOLLECTIONS: 60'S CHRISTMAS PARTY PT.2

Our 60's Christmas Party continues with Music exclusively from that Decade.
Pop, Rock, Psychedelia and Folk will all be included.
But the centerpiece as always is the Beatles Christmas Message 1965- their 3rd one, smack dab in the middle of the 60's.
What to wear to a Rockollections Christmas Party?
How about a Smile?
Enjoy!

Now you'll have to share your shows to that page...

RJ,
And right away the Golden Pell goes to Rotary Connection!
A sadly forgotten group I will have to play more of.
Honestly, I don't know who was playing guitar, but he's good.
They were more know for their singing and reconstructing other's Rock songs into incredibly different interpretations.
And you have it right, the flexi-disc they sent out was like those records that used to come on the back of a cereal box- but better quality.
Just one side!
I get the same feeling, it does make you wish you could have hung around with them.
The old writer and famous radio guy Jean Sheperd went to England in their eraly days to do a hatchet job on them.
Meeting them and being stuck in hotels with them, he was surprised at how friendly they were, how they joked about being godly Beatles, and how they took him in as a friend so easily treating him like one of them.
He loved them from then on.
It may be a great idea, but it's not mine- I wouldn't know how to start a Facebook page, LOL!
Thanks for joining, it's a mystery to me where it first came from!
Yeah, Jon and the Beatles Christmas message, what a Grinch!
If Springsteen ever does a Christmas message, I'll not only play it for him, but email it to him too, lol!
Thanks for the listen and writing,
Mike

Scott,
I swear, I was at Facebook and out of the corner of my eye on the right, I saw Friends Who Like Rockollections.
I clicked on it, and figured I'd add to it, ride along with it.
Still have no idea where it came from or who put it there.
SOMEODY likes me!
Maybe Santa Claus, lol?

Jon,
I have to play more Rotary Connection, they did some amazing things with other people's songs!
I don't know who was playing geetar.
Hahahahahaha, grooving until the Beatles came on!
You are EVIL, LOL!
This is funny, "Now I'm scared to answer the door (like I do anyway)".
You have upset a large part of the world's population, lol!
Thanks for the listen and writing,
Mike

To bad for Jon that the Beatles Christmas message wasn't a Springsteen Christmas message.  That he would have loved.

Just saw Scott's reply below.  Great idea Mike, it's about time you started your own Facebook page.  I joined!

Paul Revere And The Raiders, huh?  Not bad.

Quickly, the Golden Pell goes to Rotary Connection for the electrifying guitar work.

The folk section was cool to close the show out.

What I found most interesting was the Beatles Christmas message.  This "flexi-disc" that they sent out to their fanclub members is such a cool thing.  I'm curious as to what exactly is a "flexi-disc"?  How do you play it?  Is it like those records that use to come on the back of a cereal box?   Anyway, just listening to the guys makes you wish you could have hung around with them.  They sound like a hoot.

Rotary Connection was interesting, who was playing geetar? Didn't sound like something from the 60's.

You know, I'll probably get shot for saying this, but I was grooving to this until the Beatles came on. It took me completely out of the show for some reason, even listening to it twice. It took me so far out of it, that I really couldn't get into the last set of songs until I listened to it without the Beatles.

I know, I know. I'm evil. I'm supposed to like everything Beatle. But I don't.

I'm sorry.

But the first part was cool and without the Beatles, the last part was cool as well but not AS cool.

Now I'm scared to answer the door (like I do anyway).
