ROCKOLLECTIONS: ART AND ARTISTS PT.2

Some Themes are tougher to do than others, that is the case with this one.
I'm not complaining mind you, there are many times I simply enjoy the challenge- that's the case here too.
What's the most famous Painting you can think of?
I'll have my answer in here and much more.
You are invited to join me for a Chapter that is truly a mixed bag- I think you will enjoy this one, certainly hope you do.
It is very very different from what Radio has become today.
And as for that challenge, it turns out I found enough Music to do another two halves for a Show next week!

Ain't going to suck me in with that this time!

No, I know what you mean, guess I do have a nice voice or else I wouldn't be an Announcer and Radio Host.

But I am modest...oh wait, that's for humans and you wouldn't understand, lol!

I like The Band...a lot, and The Last Waltz is as much a compilation album as anything.

But The Band albums...no collection is complete without them, lol!

The Band is one of tose groups I can take or leave. Some of their songs I like, some I don't. I think I had one album on vinyl years ago, might have been The Last Waltz, maybe not. The only thing I have now is a Best Of and to be perfectly honest, I don't like half the stuff on that album.

Listen to it. It goes from your voice to Joni and it does wake you up. Turn the volume up, you'll see what I'm saying.

I clicked it and it brings you to an interesting but disappointingly clean site, lol!

You two guys crack me up.

Jon,
This is SO wrong to say to a guy who loves Kiss, "Putting makeup on one's face does not a painter make."
Funny...but wrong, lol!

RJ,
No kidding, you liked this part maybe better than part one.
Now if only I could convince everyone else, lol!
It was laid back, mainly due to the nature of the Theme- there's only so much I can do with the songs I have picked out on this difficult topic.
And look out, this time our close thinking wavelength went out of whack.
Conway Twitty possibly for the Golden Pell, then Tony Bennett, never even considered them.
Lightfoot was my pick for your pick, lol!
Even though his voice is getting thin, that's a great song!
And right behind, the song that grates on your nerves by Ronnie Wood & Bo Diddley.
I like the song and love that particular version, I mean Bo didn't play with others too often.
In the final analysis, surprisingly to me the coveted Golden Pell goes to The Band for their When I Paint My Masterpiece.
It is a worthy winner, and I remember when that was the ONLY version before Dylan came out with his own.
I considered Paint It Black, but the lyrics are "I see a red door and I want to paint it black".
I didn't feel painting a door makes you an Artist, lol!
And there were others like that- songs like Another Coat Of Paint, etc.
I didn't know Paul Stanley is a painter, but I limited them to 3, and picked what I think are the 3 most famous for it.
Oh and I see Jon is up to his mischief again, lol!
Thanks for the listen and writing,
Mike

Jon,
That's The Scream.
I am cultured, I'm just trying to bring YOU around, lol!
Only you would say that sums up everything quite perfectly.
Joni Mitchell is shrill compared to my lovely, lilting voice?
Well, I don't like to brag but take out lovely, lol!
I said  "painting artist" to distinguish what I am doing as compared to the painter that does the walls and ceilings of your house.
I have said many a thing at a topless bar, never mind what I was thinking- Ooh La la may have been one of them.
Musicians who painted or drew their own album covers might be interesting, but I think it would wear thin quickly for a whole show- and the research alone would take longer than the show.
Ah now leave Gordon Lightfoot alone, I feel bad cause his voice is clearly going- remember, I said that was from 1998, so by now he's been singing for over 50 years.
This time, did you like The Band, you never said?
I don't know who Ms Haversham is, sounds like a made up name, but this is funny, LOL!
"Drink this. You'll paint. You won't make money, but it'll give you something to do while sleepwalking".
I too wonder where she is now, but I'll bet it's far from you!
Thanks for the listen, writing and the usual laughs,
Mike

NEVER!. It'll probably take me to one of those "objectionable" sites. Sites I wouldn't dream of ever visiting.

Yes, it's a contractual obligation.  Now click it and buy yourself some art by The Starchild.
