Classic Rock Bottom

Alright, it's back in the low 30's temperature-wise in New York, and that is proper- it feels like Christmas.
As I mentioned in the first half, I don't remember this show ever falling on December 24th.
So Christmas Eve is the Theme.
And EVERY song played so far takes place on Christmas Eve!
That will continue until the last song exception.
I'll talk a little about some Christmas Eve memories and what it means to me.
And I myself will be going to Midnight Mass, then come home and lose myself in more Christmas Music.
It really it doesn’t matter what your plans are, you wonderful people are Dear Friends to me.
I hope you can find the time to listen to this during what will be a very busy day and night for us.
Merry Christmas To All… And God Bless Us Every One!
Let’s party again next year.

RJ, so it was not yours.

That $9.97. not today's money right?

Pic from the internet.  This would have been around 1976, and I saw one pic that was an add for it that said it was $9.97.  Big money.

Jon you troublemaker, looks like RJ DID tell us what was in the package.

And only you would find some perversion about his hand running over a package...LOL!

And finally, I forgot to mention that it was actually difficult to find an hour's worth of songs that took place on Christmas Eve- had to give it a bit of thought.

But if anybody can rule a Theme, I am the guy, lol!

Thanks again for being such dependable people who don't let my efforts go unheard!

You can't listen while watching a game...I can't do it myself to my own show!
Funny story about your curiosity getting the better of you and fingering the gift, LOL!
For some reason, I can wait forever before opening a present, doesn't bother me at all.
And that is it pictured? You were Big Jim the Sky Commander, lol?
Whoa, that is one helluva nice gift!
Is that the original toy or just a pic from the internet?
Oh I love that song by The Band, but it tooks years for it to get to me.
I have made peace with the Carpenters, and many others frankly.
I don't have to prove my Rock & Roll chops anymore.
That Moody Blues song is from their only Christmas album (that I know of), called December.
And the Golden Pell goes to Kenny Rankin!
Excellent choice!
For me, it would have been that or the Emmylou Harris song...but I think that, lol!
Thanks for the listen and writing, hope you and the family had a great Chrsitmas,

Again, THIS is funny!

Canned soup? That is awesome!

I used to tell people that since it was the holiday, I would add hot dogs to my mac n' cheese. Try that once. See how much sympathy you get, especially from the old people.

I don't think I could write like that, turning a paragraph over to someone else- unless for a lark.
It's normal to embellish stories, we all do it I guess.
I scoured what you put down here, but I don't see where the site is.
Where is the Alcoholic Frogman, lol?
You have talent!

Wow, I can't believe that got past me.  Anyway, it was this:

Notice how he never mentioned WHAT was in the package?

Plus he had his hand running over a package......

Once again, I'm playing catch up.  I'm listening while watching the UGA - Nebraska game.  And I'm typing as I listen.  The Kenny Rankin song was cool.  It's okay that you played The Carpenters.  Karen had a beautiful voice.

I remember sitting at a family gathering one Christmas that was in my home.  I was in a chair that was next to the tree.  There was a very odd shaped package that I had already noticed my name on.  My curiosity was getting the best of me.  So while sitting there, I had my hand down beside the chair, running it over that package, trying to imagine what it might be.  Then my finger broke the paper.  I thought I was a gonner.  I sweated it out but my Mom never saw that I had ripped the paper.  I actually just told her about that this past Christmas.

Middle set was good.  I liked the song by The Band best.

And The Moody Blues close the show.  Good choice.  That voice just blends so well with Christmas.

I'm giving the Golden Pell to Kenny Rankin.  I like that song best.

Back in the late 90's, a friend and I decided we wanted to write a story. He would do one paragraph, I would do the next, so on and so forth.

We began drinking and started writing. What eventually came out was something titled "The Frogman".

My friend decided that we needed to share this with the world, so he started a site, posted the story and the rest is history, or something. Not a huge site, but there was a bit of traffic in the beginning and people began submitting their own stories.

To take it a step further, we decided that we would both write weekly "blogs". Just stuff that popped into our minds, and we've been doing it ever since. Recently I've tapered off the weekly part, don't know if it was the lack of ideas, laziness or what. But I started again last week.

I just make stuff up, with some of it based on reality. Say a tree falls in our neighborhood, that's something nice to write about. All the neighbors get together and cut up the tree because it was blocking the street. Kinda boring , if you ask me. So I embellish, maybe someone cuts off their arm, maybe someone is attacked by squirrels who used to live in the tree. Just something to make it more interesting, at least in my sick, depraved world.

Reading "The Frogman" now, it's kind of stupid. But it's completely waaaaay out there. Guess part of it had to do with the alcohol.
