ROCKOLLECTIONS: DESPERADO PT.2 FINISH

Finishing up the second half of the Eagles' Desperado album, all through this episode Engineer Ken Stanley and I will try to point out a lot of the similarities between the Outlaw and the Rock Star.
Far more than you might expect!
Take a listen to Outlaw Man, and the regrets of Saturday Night.
All things considered, the Desperado album works as a concept, and simply as a damn good listen!
Funny, but back in those days, the people at the station wanted me to talk more- so if I seem wordy that's why- while I always wanted to play as much Music as I could fit in.
And remember, this was broadcast on November 6, 2006, and that was, like yesterday, an Election Day.
So to take us out, I played an old forgotten ditty by Steve Goodman, joined on piano and backup vocals by a fellow named Bob Dylan.
I hope this show was informative and enjoyable, it was fun for me.

RJ,
That wasn't planned, opening with an insrumental.
Oh man, I haven't even thought of Blackfoot in years, but you have a point with the Southern Rock.
I don't know, think I'll take Bitter Creek!
Nothing wrong with the others though.
Thanks for the listen and writing,
Mike

Jon,
Yeah, I have hair smartass!
Not as much as I'd like, but I have hair, lol!
I read the reviews because I thought it would be more informative, and I fought the authority by having fun with them when I screwed up, and just generally being myself.
I knew that gradually I would work in more music, and now they completely leave me alone.
I was, and still am, the only person playing Rock & Roll and they weren't sure hoe it should be handled.
As for more rock less talk, it never enters my mind- there are times I go off on something and then I realize I may have just talked myself out of playing a song, lol!
It's Free-Form, no rules.
That's how I feel, there's never enough music.
Hell, I probably already have more music than I'll live long enough to listen to.
Put WHAT in the books?
Hey I think Scott feel s you should get the album!
Thanks for the listen and writing, not the personal attacks- good thing I'm such a calm guy, lol,
Mike

Very cool, short instrumental to kick it off.

Outlaw Man is pure Southern Rock.  I could easily hear Blackfoot doing this song with an extended guitar outro. Love the little tempo change.  The bass guitar is lights out during this part.

Best song on side two is Bitter Creek.  Or maybe Outlaw man.  Or Maybe the reprise, can't make up my mind.

You had hair?

So, did you fight the authority by reading the album review to get more talk? I always thought it was more rock, less talk. Sometimes people in charge are dumb.

Now I can say I have heard all of "Desperado", and it's not too bad. I don't know if I'll ever pick it up though. I have enough music. But there's never enough so I'm in a quandary.

Put it in the books!
