ROCKOLLECTIONS: EASTER 2016 PT.4 END

At Christmas, they say Jesus is the Reason For The Season- same goes for Easter.
I ain't preaching- you can regard him as the Son Of God or as a Man With A PhiIosophy and A Rebel, but what happened is what happened.
To begin the end, some Musical Time Travel back 2,000 Years!
It's that Cool Thing I mentioned, Cool to me anyway!
To close it out, Songs Of Love.
Glad I recorded this show on the weekend.
With the events in Belgium, I am more Angry than Loving.
Maybe these songs can help us all!
Happy Easter!

Work intrudes on so many things, including my responding, lol!

Easter goes on for weeks in the Church.

It was an unintentional skip.  I just realized that I missed that part, might be able to make it up later in the week.  Work has gotten to the point that listening to something is the exception, not the rule.

RJ,
Strange you skipped Pt.3, no more ODD numbers, lol?
I really liked that set, and Morning Has Broken seemed a good way to begin.
Superstar was the theme to an old show from the 70's?
Another one that got past me!
Love Radiates Around- by The Roches, it's an Irish name- now that you mention it does get better as it goes along, and there is a definite spiritual vibe to it.
And it gets the Golden Pell, a surprise.
I thought it might be Jorma Kaukonen.
Like I said to Jon, surprised neither of you geetar guys mentioned his work on the brilliant  I Am The Light Of This World!
A show based on songs with really dark lyrics?
How about Death?
Started thinking about that when my old buddy died.
Not as dark as you may think, but I may do it justice!
Happy Easter, to you and the family!
Thanks for the listen and writing,
Mike

Jon,
I only saw Jesus Christ Superstar as a movie.
You had an 8 track...COOL!
I still haven't seen anything on blu-ray, lol!
The guy that played Peter in the movie became a pretty famous porn star?
That is odd to know, lol!I
Yeah, this part of the series was the best.
I was proud of that opening set, I was inspired, lol!
Surprised neither of you geetar guys mentioned the work of Jorma Kaukonen on his brilliant playing on I Am The Light Of This World!
Thanks for the listen and writing,
Mike

Morning Has Broken is one of those songs I never cared for, but it actually sounded pretty good here today.

"Superstars, superstars, we're superstars and we know we are"...wasn't that the them song to that old show from the 70's where the professional athletes battled each other?  Well, that is the first time I've heard that entire song, and I have to say it rocks pretty hard.

Love Radiates Around by The Roaches (I think that's what you said) was a strange song.  By strange I mean that I didn't like it at first, but the longer it played, the more catchy I though it was.  I'll award the Golden Pell right here.

I have a show request (yes, I know you are your own man and you don't really do requests, but just humor me).  I'd love to hear a show based on songs with really dark lyrics.  That type of song has always been my favorite and I know you would do it justice.

I saw "Jesus Christ Superstar" on Boradway when I was a wee lad, it really amazed me and has stuck with me throughout the years. The spectacle, man! THE MUSIC!!!!

I had an 8 track of the music, it was the "brown album" and I believe it was the version with Ian Gillan as JC. I guess there's two versions on CD featuring Gillan, one with a brown cover, the other with a white cover. The white cover has the better master from what I've read. It seriously a great album that everyone should own, especially those that like rock.

I also saw the movie when I was younger and was freaking out when tanks appeared. You know, because it was way back then and there were no tanks. But they were on a bus at the beginning of the movie.....

Yes, I have the movie on blu-ray. Might still have a copy on DVD. No Ian Gillan, but Ted Neely does a nice job and Yvonne Elliman plays the same role in the movie as she did on stage which is cool.

The guy that played Peter in the movie became a pretty famous porn star. See the crap I know?

I liked this part of the series the best. Good stuff here!
