Classic Rock Bottom

Celebrating the Fall Colors, it is time, after almost 10 years, for the Return Of ROY G BIV!
Any idea who that is?
Well, honestly he is not a person but rather a teaching aid used by the nuns when I was in grammar school.
It was a way to remember the Color Wheel, an acronym.
And over the years, I have been vindicated, and will prove it, for introducing this and having no one remember it, lol!
So that is what we will do on Color Radio this time.
You'll get the idea real quick, as I take you musically on a trip around the Color Wheel with ROY G BIV.
Enjoy the ride!
Happy Veterans Day, God bless you and thank you for your service!

Guess I just didn't care, does the world need another Tommy, lol?

No, Tommy came out a few years ago, so you were....somewhere.

Right, I think it was Andy White- for some reason that name sticks out for me, he did the original Beatle single, Ringo the album cut.

Didn't know about the others, maybe my time away?

They did a couple Beatles albums, I think that drummer only played on one song.
They also did a remake of The Who's "Tommy".

RJ,
I like The Smithereens, think I've played them.
Didn't they recently recreate a Beatles album, complete with the non-Ringo drummer of the original?
I just didn't know they did a song Indigo Blues.
And damn, I could have killed two birds with one stone.
I love killing birds, lol!

You could have killed two birds with one stone if you would have played Indigo Blues by The Smithereens...but I know for a fact that would never happen.

RJ,
Very probable I put Roy G Biv in your head, lol!
Red Rubber Ball, Orange Skies, Mellow Yellow, Green River and Blue Bayou are all great classic songs, were easy picks.
But an Indigo song was tough to find- considered the Indigo Girls but that was cheating.
And was gonna play Duke Ellington doing Mood Indigo, but switched to Joe keeping it rockers.
They Might Be Giants, been waiting to play that for vindication, lol!
A Classic Pell to CCR for Green River, you can't go wrong.
But I would give a Golden Pell to Eric Andersen for Violets Of Dawn.
It's as good as Lightfoot, more poetic, and I first heard them both around the same time.
Needless to say, I love it, lol!
Thanks for the listen and writing,
Mike

Roy G Biv...never heard of him, unless I've heard of him before from you and just don't remember.  Who knows? By the way, I was gonna guess all of the song titles, but the first 7 song titles seemed to be quite easy.

Red Rubber Ball is very, very 60's sounding.  So is Orange Skies.

Of course, I've heard Mellow Yellow and Green River.  And Blue Bayou. But not Mood Indigo (I thought he was saying True Indigo.  And I thought Mr. Anderson was saying Violets of Dark.  Oh well, maybe the song titles weren't so easy to guess.

And the title song (I guess you'd call it that) wasn't half bad.

Nothing new that was life changing for me today, so I'll forgo the Golden Pell and award a Classic Pell to CCR for Green River.  What a great, classic song.

That's true, but I figured that's what you meant, lol!

It would have made more sense if I wote "Now I wonder if there's nobody that HASN'T covered that song. Oh, well.
