ROCKOLLECTIONS: FRENCH CLASS PT.2 END

Summer School French Class wraps up with Rock & Roll and Pop Songs that have French in them.
After the first one, these might be a bit more unknown.
Of course, that depends on who's doing the listening!
Plus there are times in your Life that you hear and know Songs but can't explain why.
In my case, I have a Set of Music that goes back to when I was a little kid, when I had absolutely no control over what Music was played, the Adults did.
I heard these whether I wanted to or not.
Hell I wasn't even allowed to touch the phonograph (but did anyway when no one was looking, lol).
Whether it was on the Radio, the Jukebox, or the old Record Player, I vaguely remember them, and they are today nice memories.
Maybe you will also, or know them as a Student Of Music.
But that is just one Set, there are others in here you ought to know, still just Music and still just Fun!
Everyone Gets An "A", Class Dismissed and Au Revoir!

RJ,
One of my last  girlfriends was named Michelle, and that has absolutely nothing to do with anything either, lol!
I love that Fairport Convention song.
Those next four songs were a pretty forgotten part of my childhood, so young the memories aren't even moving pictures, just snapshots.
And the Golden Pell to 10cc, I would have picked that or Fairport.
Glad I was able to introduce it to you.
Not  Mexican class, Spanish class, LOL!
Actually, re-run Series coming up, I am tired.
Thanks for the listen and writing,
Mike

Narrow Gate (La Porte Etroite) eh?
But I've never heard of the group Paris, that's what I need you guys for, lol!
And Bob Welch was the leader, between his exit from Fleetwood Mac and "French Kiss", that IS amazing!

Like the Beatles song.  My first girlfriend was named Michelle, and that has absolutely nothing to do with anything.  The Fairport Convention was pretty cool.

But those next four songs or so were just too French filled for my tastes.

The 10cc song was interesting.  I've never heard it, but it's a far cry from their pop stuff.  It's a massive, theatrical song.  And I think it will get the Golden Pell.

What's next?  Mexican class?

Why yes, Paris did have a French song, "Narrow Gate (La Porte Etroite)"  off their debut.

And who was the leader of the group? Why, Bob Welch! And the two Paris albums came between his exit from Fleetwood Mac and "French Kiss".

Amazing how things work!!!!

Jon,
I had Voulez-Vous by ABBA out, never got to it, I had a flow going and it is my show, lol!
I like Weird Al, but Stan Freberg was a genius- he has a collection called Tip Of The Freberg worth checking out.
Forgot about that Beatles song?
That's what I'm here for!
Fairport Convention I think I played before, as well as Manfred Mann and Dylan himself from the Basement Tapes- but the French by Fairport was my first heard.
Groups and artists were grabbing his songs from the motorcycle accident period when Dylan wasn't making records but still wriing great songs.
That you've heard that Ames Brothers song before proves my point about knowing songs, but not why we do!
That's good, Eartha Kitt WAS Catwoman briefly, lol!
When I thought to play That 10cc song, I figured some people would remember it- but again after playback I wasn't so sure.
Glad you thought it is really cool, and thinking of Godley and Creme has a good reason.
This is it for this series!
I don't know Paris, they do a French song?
And does "Paris" by Supertramp have a Frenchy on it?
I pulled out French Kiss by Bob Welch- not a damn French song on it- not even a title song, lol!
But...no Bummer!
Thanks for the listen and writing,
Mike

I remembered another song when this show started! "Voulez-Vous" by ABBA! Will you play it?

No. You didn't.

I'm not a huge fan of Weird Al, but do like his opening credit song/scene in "Spy Hard" and really like "UHF" because it's so stupid, yet so funny.

Forgot about that Beatles song.

That Fairport Convention song was familiar, but not the French version. Heard it somewhere else and couldn't figure out where. Guess I know now, maybe.

I've heard that Ames Brothers song before, but don't think it was by the Ames Brothers.

Catwoman! She didn't mention bats for some reason.

That 10cc song is really cool. Whenever I hear 10cc, I think of Godley and Creme for some reason. And then I start crying because I'm so confused.

This is it for this series? You could have played something by Paris. Or something off "Paris" by Supertramp.

Bummer.
