ROCKOLLECTIONS: FRENCH CLASS PT.2 END

French Class wraps up with more Rock & Roll and Pop Songs that have French in them.
After the first half, these might be a bit more unknown- of course, that depends on who's doing the listening!
There are times in your Life that you hear and know Songs but can't explain why.
In my case, I have a Set of Music that goes back to when I was a little kid, when I had absolutely no control over what Music was played, the adults did.
I heard these whether I wanted to or not.
Might have been on the Radio, the Jukebox, or the old Record Player, I vaguely remember them, and they are today nice memories.
But that is just one Set, there are others in here you ought to know, still just Music and still just Fun!
Everyone Gets An "A", Class Dismissed and Au Revoir!

Well it AIN'T lots of love!

I tend to lean toward English speaking Bands, leaving the Belgians and other Euros to be heard mainly by chance.

There's enough music without them!

"Vaya Con Dios" = Spanish for "Go with God"

VAYA CON DIOS = Belgian Pop Band

Johnny = Song by VAYA CON DIOS sang in French

LOL = According to the Urban dictionary; "an abbreviation  for 'laugh out loud' to younger users,
and 'lots of love" for older ones.

Example:
Mom: Grandma just died. LOL
Son: Mom, what the fuck?

Looking back, I probably should have played Edith Piaf, but bear in mind I only had an hour!
Vaya Con Dios is Spanish, lol!
I always figured Jane Birkin as a hot babe, not much of a singer.
Some of the others I know, some I don't.
I can always return for another Class, lol!

Bon Appétit,

Hey, I was curious what kind of French songs was a blue-blooded American exposed to, and now I know.

Many of the 'expected suspects' showed up, but some did not. In fact, there are few that simply screams to be included in any self-respected song-list Made In France.

First, let me say my favorite (unknown to me) song was the "Go If You Got To Go". Not only for it sounded good but I can relate to it as well. I used to be able to hold it back, but nowadays if I have to take a crap... pardon my French... I have to do it sooner rather than later.

Seems like some things are universal, no matter where you live or what generation you belong to. For example; having no vote in music that fills the air while you are young and green behind your ears is one of them. Like you, I was too lip singing gibberish to melodies I did not understand words... whatsoever. And if French is the language you're interested in, then the gratifications from the adult's taste around my childhood came from these songs:
Bunch of Demis Roussos songs +
EDITH PIAF - Milord + the duo of
ALAIN BARRIERE / NOELLE CORDIER - Tu T'en Vas
and probably more that escapes my recollection.

That was 'then', but over the years I heard a few songs that would qualify here (especially in the 80's) to make my own list: (to be honest, I did not expect any of these songs to see here, though)
PATRICIA KAAS / CHRIS REA - Ceux Qui N'ont Rien
VAYA CON DIOS - Johnny
DEBUT DE SOIREE - Nuit De Folie
DESIRELESS - Voyage Voyage
LAROCHE VALMONT - T'as Le Look Coco
NOE WILLER - Toi, Femme Publique
LES G.O. CULTURE - Darla Dirlada
NIAGARA - J'ai Vu
ROBBIE NEVIL - C'est La Vie
just from the top of my head and not going into the Metal territory.

BUT... You really missed a few that need to be here. COME on...
no?
JANE BIRKIN / SERGE GAINSBOURG - Je T'aime,... Moi Non Plus
no?
MIKE OLDFIELD / MAGGIE REILLY - To France
no?
BACCARA - Parlez-Vous Francais
no?
BONNIE TYLER - Lost In France
no?
MARTIN CIRCUS - Docteur (this is the second time you missed this son's appropriate inclusion) and last and most mind-boggling Nooooooooooooooooooo...
THIN LIZZY - Parisienne Walkways

Tsk-Tsk... Honte à toi.

Nope, didn't raise my hand for that.

Ooh, yet another song popped into my head.

Don't speak French. Please.
