ROCKOLLECTIONS: GEORGE AND JOHN ON THE BBC PT.2 END

Again I remind you this was originally broadcast in 2010, that's why the Math is off.
Moving on to John Lennon in our remembrance of the lives of two men who were a part of something that probably will never happen again, the phenomenon that was the Beatles.
Dec. 8th is the anniversary of John's death.
I'll cherry pick some more from those delightful 1963 BBC Sessions, highlighting John, from Pop Go The Beatles.
There is a real fun moment in here regarding George Martin's non-appearance on the show, and the Beatles need for the piano part Martin played on A Hard Day's Night.
I'll take you back for some more Roots Rock too.
Then some dialogue simply between a father and a son, but with a cute surprise in its content.
I'll end with a seasonal song, but more intimate with just John and Yoko- not the version with the children's chorus you are used to hearing.
What can I say? I miss those two guys and wish they were still around.
But when you think about it, it's all perspective.
Including their solo careers, they left us with a vast library of great music.
So, are the Beatles now half empty or half full?
And given the joy they provided in my life and so many others lives, does it even matter?

Yeah it is funny, the sentence just kind of drops off a cliff!

But that's what you do, that's how you roll, lol!

I didn't even finish the sentence on my original post. How funny is that?

Jon,
Sorry man, I couldn't get an internet connection.
Bought a laptop and been screwng everything up!
Sharp ears, this was a re-run and one of the earliest ones I put at CRB- so I don't think you commented on the show back then
Now here's what makes me proud of you- you still listened because that's what you do, lol!
"Nobody told me that you need lite knees", that's called a mondegreen and I could a LOT of shows on them.
Mishearing lyrics!
I listened to WNEW-FM the night Lennon was shot, and I felt terrible about it.
I remember unlike most of America watching Monday Night Football, I was watching my first love a hockey game with a friend, and another friend called to tell me John was shot.
Immediately put WNEW-FM on, Vin Scelsa was playing Jungleland by Springsteen and I just KNEW he was dead!
Thanks for writing and listening, and doing what you do, lol,
Mike

Oh, I dunno.

Yeah, I now REALLY believe I've heard this show before.

But I still listened because that's what I do.

"Nobody told me that you need lite knees".  That's what I thought he was singing in

I was litening to the radio the night John Lennon was shot, believe it was WPLJ. Back then I couldn't care less about the Beatles, pre-drug or druggie. I just basically shrugged off the story. but there were a bunch of kids at school the next day who were very bummed. I wasn't one of 'em, though. Hey, just being honest!
