ROCKOLLECTIONS: HERE COMES SUMMER PT.4

More Deep Cuts for Here Comes Summer Part Four.
But maybe not quite as deep or mellow as Part Three.
I'll explain how ideas for Songs come- in this instance it was something I said just before the break in Part Three- resulting in a nice long set!
Admittedly, these were two eccentric halves, but it gave me room to stretch and I like that.
And I think YOU will like this Chapter.
In any case, I am sure I will return to it in some form or another, but Happy Rest Of The Summer!

I noticed it but had to check, it confused even me, lol!

That is part of why I do the show- mostly I try to un-sour people, lol!

Scholarly and fun, that's me!

Ha.  I just noticed my typo.  I'm getting old, and that kind of thing seems to be happening more.  I thought Sunny fit well too.  I had just never really thought about it being the actual sun...until this show.  So see, even if my mood is sour, you seem to be able to provoke thought.  Isn't that part of why you do what you do?

RJ,
To be perfectly honest, nobody's perfect, lol!
And I and my show get blamed because you were trapped in the office and not outside sunning?
A Mike Pell Moment Of Clarity- immediately stop listening and resume or start over when you are outside, lol!
It's Sunny by Bobby Hebb, and I too thought it was a person until I listened closer.
And anyway whether it is or not...it fit!
Another Golden Pell to Gordon Lightfoot for Summertime Dream.
All he has to do lately is be in it to win it, lol!
Hey that''s backwards, it's If You Could Read My Mind.
And while I like it, I've never quite understood what the hell the song is really saying!
For me, there are better songs on that album.
Thanks for the listen and writing,
Mike

Jon,
Catchy? I can't get rid of that piece of shit fast enough, lol?
Wonder how it latched onto me?
And I wondered how you could be so tone deaf?
A valid point about The Hobbits, if they had re-released their albums or album when the movies came out they could have maybe made a few bucks.
Can't imagine why they didn't.
Sunny, thought it came out in the 70's? NOT!
Kinks are always quite GREAT!
But now here's where you redeemed yourself, and I figured you got your hearing back, lol!

"You know, the more I think about it and listen to it again (just so I can get the the song that follows this show), this really is pretty good. Wonder what I was thinking the first time I went thru the show?"

I thought so.
What you were thinking the first time you went thru the show, as the Beach Boys sang, God Only Knows, lol!
And if you listen to that whole song, don't blame me if your ears bleed!
Thanks for the listen and writing,
Mike

To be perfectly honest, I couldn't get into this today.  Not cause the music was bad, it was good.  As usual.  But I think it was that set of sunny songs.  I was trapped in the office and it just made me mad that I wasn't outside sunning.

Of course, the only song I recognized is Sunny by Bobby Head.  That's a good song, but I've always thought it was a person, maybe Sonny.  Oh well.

I wasn't even gonna pick a Golden Pell, but you slid Gordo in there, and he can now add another trophy to his den.  Summertime Dream was really cool.  I listened to "If I Could Read Your Mind" (the album) last night. Didn't even realize I had it, must have picked it up at the used cd store recently.

We'll see ya (or hear ya) next week.

I'm starting to get into the song that follows this show. It's getting to be quite catchy. I think I listen to it more and more each show, pretty soon I'll have listened to the whole song!

I believe I liked the first show better. The first song here really didn't do much for me. I think it was the vocals. It just rubbed me the wrong way.

The Hobbits? They should have re-released their albums when the movies came out. Would probably have sold because they were all about middle-earth. Maybe not, but you never know.

I like "Sunny", thought it came out in the 70's. Sounds like something from the 70's. Maybe not.

Kinks are quite ok.

You know, the more I think about it and listen to it again (just so I can get the the song that follows this show), this really is pretty good. Wonder what I was thinking the first time I went thru the show?
