ROCKOLLECTIONS: LOVE AND MARRIAGE PT.3

I started last week with Love and Marriage- Love I know about, I just never got into the Marriage part.
But as I look out the window, today seems like a nice day for a Wedding.
In this Chapter, I'll tell you about some of my Roots (we all have them)- childhood reminiscences from my life, and the Soundtrack to it regarding Weddings.
A trip back to a simpler time, when Love and Marriage did go together like a Horse and Carriage.
Today the Horse and Carriage is being banned in New York by the Mayor.
So much for today!
I ask that you remember to always Embrace the New, and especially Respect the Old (thanks Vin).
You are invited to join me, but I warn you, I had an Oldies Attack...regarding Love and Marriage!

RJ,
It happens to me too, and it's a bitch...the annoying long pause.
And you never can be sure who's fault it is.
I was a little concerned that you and others wouldn't like those Oldies, but then there's that cool openness to all music that you have and I am glad for it.
Of course, there are people who LOVE the Oldies and think everything else I play sucks, lol!
And those are my musical roots.
How come people don't like Billy Idol? He's not exactly a staple but I don't dislike him.
Alright, the Golden Pell to The Dreamlovers (one word) for When We Get Married.
I would have given it to To The Aisle, or more likely the rocker Church Bells May Ring.
But that's what makes the world go 'round, lol!
You didn't have to wait for Part 4, but it should be here soon.
Thanks for the listen and writing,
Mike

Jon,
Are you referring to my off-the-cuff similarity to Jon Lovitz's Liar?
I didn't rehearse it, it was spontaneous, otherwise it would have been better!
And isn't it a coincedence THAT YOU AND HIM SPELL YOUR FIRST NAMES THE SAME ODD WAY WHEN EVERYONE KNOWS IT SHOULD BE JOHN, LOL?
Very protective of him, aren't we?
At the time, that might have been Elvis shaking him!
There is nothing funny about Mike Pell dancing- it has brought a tear to many an eye, lol!
That is correct, my non-wedding plans never worked out.
And that IS funny, starting with Billy Idol and the rest of the songs are 20-30 years older.
But I did it cause I CAN, LOL!
Never too early for Christmas Jon, you can start thinking about my gift now.
Thanks for the listen and writing,
Mike

Another good show Mike, even if you did fill it with oldies.  Not a bad song there.  Of course, you kicked it of with one oddball, Billy Idol.  That song's okay.  It's the only one I've heard from the whole show.

No real standouts for me, but I'll give the Golden Pell to The Dream Lovers for When We Get Married.

Hey, at least I was able to listen today.

Same problem as last week, both podomatic and soundcloud keep pausing.  Pretty sure it's me though.  Maybe I'll wait until you post part 4 and download both onto my iPod...

Yeah, ummm....you REALLY need to lay off on those impersonations. They don't work. They come off as very silly.

I thought that was Elvis. I thought someone was shaking Elvis while he sang. It wasn't Elvis. Still, it sounded like someone was shaking him as he sang.

All those bells!!!!!! Some of the songs sounded like Christmas songs with all those damn bells!!!!!!!!

Mike Pell dancing. For some reason, that makes me laugh.

So....I'm guessing your non-wedding plans really didn't go the way you thought? Didn't want to lose friends by getting married? Ah, the silly thoughts we have when we were wee lads. Silly, silly thoughts.

You start off with Billy Idol and the rest of the songs are 20-30 years older. THAT's funny!

Good show even though it is too early for Christmas. Or is it?
