ROCKOLLECTIONS: LOVE AND MARRIAGE PT.6

This is a very different Episode.
Starting with a guy perfectly willing to marry the woman but making a case for at least a Practical Arrangement.
Then that moment of realization that comes sometimes, where I realize I can go anywhere in a Theme Series.
One of the most troublesome things to a Marriage is War- the spouse is deployed, usually overseas, and that can make things very shaky at home.
But there have been Wars, our Civil War for one, where the Wife, so loving and devoted, has gone with him, sometimes disguised as a man in order to fight alongside her Husband!
So for a period in here, it's not Love & Marriage but quite the opposite, War & Marriage.
A serious topic, but I will not leave you that way, there are always ways to lighten things up.
If you think I am running out of ideas or songs for Love & Marriage, no way!
There's plenty more to come.
I invite you to join me for this unusual look from another angle!

RJ,
See Jon, here's man not only with good taste, but he can handle tough music, lol!
Oh yes, a definite folk slant for most of it.
It's Bride 1945 by Paul Siebel that gets the Golden Pell, from a very good old album.
And Lucinda Williams was a close second.
Now in my game of picking your pick, I had it that way, that those two would be very close...but for runnerup!
I definitely thought you'd go with the not even mentioned Rockabilly fun one, from John Fogerty!
Oh well, that's why they have horse races, lol!
And I too liked when Ray said that about his show, topped only by his lines about the big toe and the bogeyman.
Thanks for the listen and writing,
Mike

Jon,
But was it depressing?
Beside the fact I had neither the time nor the desire to run off a list of Wars, do you mean the actual WARS of the Roses, or mor likely, the Michael Douglas movie, lol?
I like Ray Romano- he's a New Yorker, a funny guy, and by all I've seen and heard seems like a nice guy.
You should be more like him, lol!
Now here's your funny line, the one that makes me laugh:

"Yet you tried to end it with an upbeat song, but that dark cloud of depression was just too large and just hung there."

And here's your over-the-top line, which makes me laugh too, hahahaha:

I'm so depressed, I'm going to watch people power wash the house. Hopefully I get sprayed in the face and all the skin sloughs off

Oh the humanity!!!
Thanks for the listen and writing, but are you depressed still, you panty-waist soccer watcher, lol?

Good show Mike.  This show had a definite folk slant.  No problems there.

Everything was good.

Bride 1945 by Paul somebody get's the Golden Pell.  I really liked the acoustic guitar work on that song.  Plan To Mary by Lucinda Williams was a close second.

Also liked the comedy bit by Ray.  I especially liked when he asked the audience member if he/she had a problem with him living at home with his mom..."I have a show".  That was funny.

Not to say this was depressing, but this was depressing.

You didn't mention one of the greatest marriage wars? The Rose war? THAT was a marriage war.

Songs here were good, but DEPRESSING. Ray Romano depressed me even more, just don't find him that funny.

Yet you tried to end it with an upbeat song, but that dark cloud of depression was just too large and just hung there.

I'm so depressed, I'm going to watch people power wash the house. Hopefully I get sprayed in the face and all the skin sloughs off.
