ROCKOLLECTIONS: LOVE AND MARRIAGE PT.8

To open this Love & Marriage Chapter, I have a few familiar characters we know from Rock & Roll Songs who get Married.
Then, as I was browsing through my Asian and Russian Bride Catalogue, it occurred to me I could play a song about that too, lol!
And to close the Episode, I was thinking about how Wedding Couples put so much thought into that First Dance Song, a favorite that means something to them.
So I'll play a few I remember hearing and like, plus I have the ones you should NEVER EVER play at your Wedding Reception.

Maybe it is starting to get old, but as I wrote to Jon, despite that risk of burnout, a Theme Series is over when I feel it is.

It's my call.

Some people may like it, others may not, still others could care less.

Now this is important in relation to today's Radio because we are never pushed, never surprised anymore.

It's that element of surprise I go for, whether it be a choice of songs or having people say, "Damn, is he still doing that series?", lol!

But the most important thing is whether I can bring something interesting to the table with each episode, something that pleases me on this end, something I can be proud of years from now.

As a matter of fact, I will be playing re-runs for the month of August as I will be going back on vacation, shows I did on a subject back in 2010.

Listening to them now, not having heard them for 4 years, I was mostly happily surprised at what I played- going along there were times even I couldn't anticipate what was coming next, lol!

The point is, there is always me personally in the shows- not like the bland personalities of today's Radio, and to say personality maybe giving them too much.

I give listeners a reason to Like me, or I give them one to Dislike me!

Either way, nothing will change- the show will always reflect my taste in Music, my selections and my mood at the time.

That's why any given episode would be much different if I were to record it a day later, even hours later, and I like that about the show.

I will NOT accept the Pell Bomb, lol!
I've always liked The Association a lot, and Cherish is a damn good song, full of their trademark harmonies.

Now the Golden Pell to Harry Chapin is well deserved and a good pick.

But the lyrics aren't funny at all, are you suffering from heat stroke, lol?

Overall good, but Cherish is terrible. Always has been. New award, the Pell Bomb. It goes to The Association.

I'll give the Golden Pell to Harry Chapin, but only because the lyrics were quite funny. The Big Bopper's Wedding was interesting as well.
