Sort of typing as I listen again. I'm no longer much of a baseball fan. I can't name 3 players on the Braves team. Just thought you should know that.
And you mentioned Jeter. Of course, he is now retired, and I'm no Yankees fan, but I'm a Derek Jeter fan. He's a stand-up guy and a great ball player.
That first full song is pretty good. Terry Cashman and The Song Of October. I heard Chambliss in there, and though he was once a Yankee, he played for the Braves too. Cool dude.
I don't even know what the playoff format is now.
The Atlanta Braves won the World Series in 2005. Should have won it in 2006, except for that darn catcher, Jim somebody or other.
Jimmy Stewart, meh. But that made me think of a Seinfeld moment. George wants to name his first child Seven after Mickey Mantle. Then one of his friends steals the name for his child. And of course, George eventually gets a job with the Yankees. I loved that show.
The song by Tom Chalkley had it's moments, but he sounded like someone trying to sound like Bruce Springsteen. He recorded it under the name Bruce Springstone? Weird.
Marketing Baseball by Bob Newhart was awesome. It get's the Golden Pell.
Play By Play was cool and so was the comparison of love to baseball by The Intruders.
Good job.
Cool!! Finally get to hear ACDC's new track!! ... uh, wait this sounds nothing like ACDC. Oh well.
Tommy: Richard! Were you watching, "Spank-tra-vision?" Maybe you were watching a movie with that funny comedian! Oh, whats his name? Buddy... Whackett?
Richard Hayden: Ok, let's get some shut-eye.
Tommy: [Looks out the window] Say! That's a pretty girl down there!
Richard Hayden: Good for her.
Tommy: Gee, I wonder if she goes out with one of the Yankees!
So I'm not a baseball fan - sue me! But I do love the movie Tommy Boy! And its funny that when you mention Jeter that's what came to my mind.
No offense, but that Springsteen tune really underscores why I cant get into his music...
Bob Newhart gets the Golden Pell!
What no Outfiled?
Derek Jeter? Whatever.
The post season starts tomorrow (Tuesday), and it was a way to get more teams in the playoffs. Hey, I'm happy to see KC in, the more the merrier.
Nope, Lenny Dykstra did not hit a home run in that extra inning game. He hit a single which scored Wally Backman and gave the Mets a 7-4 lead, Houston scored two in the bottom of the 16th so the Mets won 7-6. That was a hell of a game, I watched that whole thing. Let's not talk about the Mookie Wilson grounder thru Buckner's legs since that brings up stupid memories.
That's funny. That sounded like Bruuuuuuuuuuce singing worse than normal. Thought it was he, but why someone would want to sound like Bruuuuuuuuuuuuuuuce is beyond me. Wonder if he fists his geetar™ like Bruuuuuuuuuuce? Oh, like I care.
Bob Newhart. Funny guy!
No John Fogerty? Oh, and please DO NOT play The Outfield. THey had zero songs about baseball, but even if they did, it would suck.
Interesting show, that's what i have to say about this.
There are no birthdays today
