Classic Rock Bottom

Labor Day has come and gone, but I still have songs to play and things to get off my chest.
Tightly wound Cranky Times call for Cranky Music.
So why not go big with it, take on those 3 overcompensated branches of government!
The Golf Branch, the Do-Nothing Legislative Branch that couldn't agree on what to have for lunch, and the For-Life Judicial Branch that knows better than Merriam-Webster what words mean.
Their oh so noble "Public Service" does far more for them and their pursuit of Money than serving the public!
Some people are defined by the Money they make, I ain't one of them!
Plus Work takes up so much of our time, it detracts and distracts us from the truly important things in Life.

RJ,
I was able to work from home, but got an ASAP Travel Agency voiceover at 3PM on Friday!
I had to scurry to do it and never heard back, which probably means they hurried to use it so that's a good thing.
I see your posts at Country Rock Bottom so you know more than me on certain guys like Robert Earl Keen.
I thought I might surprise a few with the Jackson Browne song as to its content.
That track from Van Morrison is great and should get the Golden Pell, and I thought it would.
So yes, Jerry Jeff Walker for the GP surprises the crap out of me, lol!
But it's your pick, and I like what that song says, my way of looking at things.
Maybe you just convinced me, lol!
Thanks for the listen and writing,
Mike

Jon,
Yeah, guess I was- a lot of stuff building up, but music soothes.
Always expect the unexpected, lol!
Jerry Jeff Walker can be strange, saw him in concert once, he never lifted his head so all I saw was a cowboy hat!
Proper Ornaments is a great song almost as good as the album title track, Kites Are Fun- love that one.
And Free Design is not so strange for 1967, lol!
I always liked Billy Joel, no one album did it- you are strange.
I calmed down as I went along, but Angry Young Man does not cut it as a suggestion because it does not fit the Theme of Labor Day.
Now does it, lol?
Pay attention!
Thanks for the listen and writing, and I'll ignore that remark cause it's you,
Mike

Having a hard time getting to this stuff this week.  Work is just crazy.  So not a lot to say this week cause I'm tired and listening late in the evening.

I will say I thought that fourth song you played (by Jerry Jeff Walker) was Robert Earl Keen.  Undoubtedly it wasn't, but hey, they both have three names.  So there is that.

The Jackson Browne song was terrific, but since I've heard it before, it is not eligible for the Golden Pell.

That last track from Van Morrison was cool, and I've never heard it, but I'm going with Jerry Jeff Walker for the GP.  Bet that surprises you!

Angry man alert!!!!!

Ok, I actually thought you were going to play Alan Parsons Project with the first song. You know, games people play and all that. So, I was surprised because what you played wasn't expected.

That Jerry Jeff Walker sounded like something off the "O, Brother Where Art Thou" soundtrack.

That Proper Ornaments song was really good, I'm going to have to check out the album. But that's kind of an odd name for a band?

Back in the late 70's/early 80's, I hated Billy Joel. Thought he was a wimp. Then "The Nylon Curtain" came out and my though process changed. Then I began to really like Billy. One album changed me, how odd is that?

Anyway, fine show. I expected it to be more ANGRY (hell, you could have played "Angry Young Man", but you're old so it wouldn't have fit, I guess), but it did my body good.
