ROCKOLLECTIONS: ROCKERS IN THE MILITARY PT.2 END

Some History about this coming weekend.
Memorial Day, originally called Decoration Day, is a day of remembrance for those who have died in our nation's service.
The Day is not about division.
It is about reconciliation; it is about coming together to honor those who gave their all.
In my attempts to bring you our music in a slightly different way, I thought it might be interesting to give a listen to some- just some- of the Rockers who served in the Military.
In order to show no favoritism to any Branch of the Services, I will be approaching them in alphabetical order.

In this Part Two, it's the Marine Corps and Navy.

I believe there will be some surprises for you in these two chapters.
This will be fun, but with an even more accompanying amount of deserved respect.

Jon,
Wow, I get a Total Like for both halves!
You sir, are a Patriot!
Hey I haven't seen the daily Wake Up song since Katrina & The Waves.
Were you so put off by it that you stopped, lol?
You're a character, lol!
Thanks for listening and writing, cha cha cha,
Mike

Scott,
Whitesnake? Who's that, LOL?
Actually there's a Whitesnake song I really like but for the life of me I can't remember the name of it now.
I would say they all apply, that these tunes were written before, after, and even during their time in the armed forces.
No kidding, Aint No Sunshine had a sparkle to it? I must have a remastered copy!
Yes, that is indeed the "Whoopee were all gonna die" Country Joe McDonald!
Surprising isn't it?
And the GPell to Country Joe, but The Fish get squat, lol!
I noticed the geetar work as I was playing it, and was waiting for someone to mention it.
You're the guy!
Thanks for listening and writing, and being sharp to catch my cha cha cha, lol!

Nice show, I kinda liked the second half of this show a bit better than the first half, but liked it overall so it's a total like.

Great opener, Still of the Night is one of my favorite Whitesnake tunes!  Oh wait, wrong Still of the night...  I still like it a lot though, the one you played that is...

Gotta wonder if these tunes were written before or after their armed forces experience.  Some of these are quite soft for a military man, IMO.  Then again, I can imagine the battlefield is terribly lonely (we'll leave that thought right there, and never revisit it!) ahem...  and so I'm thankful to them that I never had to experience that.

Aint No Sunshine!  Way cool tune...  Really sounded crisp and fresh for some reason.  Nice!  But its that really neato-keen geetar work in the tune that followed it that's gonna push the GPell in a new direction!  Country Joe, is that "WooPee were all gonna die" Country Joe?  That was way too optimistic of a song for me to guess that one, and so he gets the award...  GPell to Country Joe, but I got nothing for the fish!

Great post Mike!  ... cha cha cha!
