ROCKOLLECTIONS: THE HOUSE WE BUILT IS NOW HOME PT.2 END

This is it, the Closer for Building A House With Song.
And I am still blaming that other guy, that Jack guy.
HE did it...I told you...it wasn't me, lol!
The House We Have Built Is Completed And Is Home!
It may have its imperfections, but so do People.
But it is People That Make The House, none of that other small stuff matters.
Plus Home is a place of comfort and safety, a Fortress Of Solitude for us- where we return to when Life gets too much.
Home Sweet Home!
So that's where we are going today, including a nice long set.
Four Weeks for this Series, but try getting a Contractor to Build A House in Four Weeks!
Thanks to all who came along for the entire ride.
Because of the Challenging Topic, it was a bumpy one at times for me.
If you like what I did, and have the time, let me know.
But the most important thing is, please do enjoy the Music and its Presentation!
Here are the links to listen, and what a long strange trip it's been, at Mike Pell Rockollections:

RJ,
Oh man, you guys come up with some names for that duo, Batman & Robin...hahahahahaha!!!
But you got it right, Batdorf & Rodney. and the song was called Home Again.
And it wins the Golden Pell, an excellent choice!
I hadn't thought about the CSN sound, but you have a point there.
As to whether all of their music sounds that good, like even CSN that's in the ear of the beholder- some of it you would really like, others a lukewarm response.
Run For Home by Lindisfarne would be a tie with me for the Golden Pell, I couldn't choose.
But The House That Jack Built by Aretha was in the running?
That means you've never heard it...surprising.
I had the most fun sneaking in that Beach Boys song, and I do think it was a stroke of genius, lol!
I know you are unlike Jon, as we all are, glad you'll be looking forward to the "home" songs for Thanksgiving.
Watch, I'll do something different, lol!
Thanks for the "Great series bro", you were a sort of part of it,
Mike

Jon,
Who wants old flowers?
Yes it was Briggs Stadium befor Tiger Stadium.
One fascinating thing is that as all 3 names that place was called in MLB, exactly 11,111 home runs were hit there.
Can you believe that number???
So YOU think the first part of this wins.
But I love ALL my Parts equally...like they were my children, lol!

Well, I thought for the first 20 or so minutes of the show that I'd have a hard time picking a Golden Pell winner, but once you played that Batman & Robin song, I had no trouble with my decision.  Seriously, I think it was Batdorf & Rodney, but I didn't figure out the song title.  That song has a great CSN sound, don't you think?  Beautiful.  I'm pretty sure you've played them before, but I don't remember if I liked 'em or not.  Does all of their music sound that good?

The other songs that were in the running were The House That Jack Built by Aretha (I was gonna award it to this song) and Run For Home by Linda's Farm (just kiddin' again, I think it's Lindisfarne, and again, I'm pretty sure you've played them before).

And I loved the two "known to me" songs, Billy Joel's and The Beach Boys.  Both great picks.  And unlike Jon, I'm looking forward to the "home" songs for Thanksgiving.

Great series bro.

I guess they were flowers for the concert or something, maybe they had them on the stage, but the next day they were garbage. Kinda sad, really. They could have given them to the Detroit homeless who could have sold them for a nickle.

Briggs Stadium? I have no idea.

The first part of this wins. WINNER, Part 1. Of this. One. Here.

Jon,
Yes, those harmony vocals come in handy when you are emphasizing the lyrics.
After Karla Bonoff the group was Lindisfarne- don't know if they are still together, but they put out a decent amount of good albums.
People always thought I was saying Linda's Farm, but Lindisfarne is an island off the coast of England I believe (too lazy to look it up).
Backdoor & Blowhard...that's funny...you are a pisser.
It's actually Batdorf & Rodney!
Let me get this straight, Aretha Franklin had a concert years ago at the old Tiger's Stadium, and the NEXT DAY when she WASN'T, here were thousands of flowers outside the stadium?
Why?
And wasn't Tiger's Stadium formerly Briggs Stadium?

but the amount of flowers was just incredible. Jut sayin' don't know if you're interested in that at all, I'm just taking up space typing stuff to make it look like I really care about stuff and things.

Whatta guy, LOL!
The song before the Beach Boys was by Lucy Kaplansky, and it makes you think of of kitties and puppies in cages?
You are nuts, lol!
And do you mean last week WINS, or the Part One previous to this that wins?
I have a lot of questions that need clarifying for my report, lol!
Finally, sure at Thanksgiving I always play songs about Home and getting there.
Hear those songs again and you'll be more familiar with them, and you'll like them more, lol!
Thanks for the listen and writing, you are lately the first in, Jonny-on-the-spot!

Hmm....I see. Quite a few songs with harmony vocalling I must say. Guess that's just what happens, I suppose, maybe.

The karla Bonoff song was quite good, but the next song? It was who? Huh? Couldn't unnerstand what you said. Plus the last song, I think it was from Backdoor & Blowhard? Huh? Who? What?

Aretha Franklin had a concert years ago at the old Tiger's Stadium and the next day there were thousands of flowers outside the stadium, ready to be tossed. THey allowed us into the stadium to take pictures since it was going to be torn down eventually, but the amount of flowers was just incredible. Jut sayin' don't know if you're interested in that at all, I'm just taking up space typing stuff to make it look like I really care about stuff and things.

The only song that really didn't grab me was the one right before the Beach Boys. I dunno, it's another of those songs that make me think of kitties and puppies in cages.

Good show overall though, but last week WINS! And are you seriously going to play these same songs on Thanksgiving???????
