ROCKOLLECTIONS: THE KENTUCKY DERBY PT.2 END

mp_yderby2.jpg
As we conclude our musical Kentucky Derby, I know a horse I would bet on but he is for a very good reason not on the field, not a contender.
Then I’ll play a couple of songs that are not only about Horses, but RACEhorses!
After that, just for kicks let’s become children again, and go to a place beyond the Derby, where nobody bets on the ponies- into a world of dreams and magic for a ride on and with the Pony Man.
Then what’s that expression, “You can lead a horse to water, but…”?
Followed by a song that seems to bring out strong emotions in people, both for and against.
Finally, and all out of breath, I will leave you with a perfectly named song that was # 2 on the charts in 1968.
Let me know if I came in Win, Place or Show.
I ran my ass off, lol!
Good luck picking the winner at the Kentucky Derby.
May he or she go on to the Triple Crown!

Here's the winning link to the home stretch, at WLSO.FM:

Nothing weird about that cape you wear Jon.

Those people are clearly wrong.

Look at how proudly Dracula wore his!

Oh wait...bad example, lol!

And I thought parading around in a cape was weird. So the people say. How wrong they are!

Jon, you are impervious to pain- nothing hurts you.

You are a SUPERHERO, LOL!

Damn! That hurt!

Nah, not really.

Jon,

Nah I didn't Google it, so don't feel hurt.

Doesn't mean I trust you though, lol!

R&R360,

Too many Mikes here, lol!

Yeah, as I said, people have strong feelings about that song.

You mean you didn't trust me and actually went ahead and googled it? I'm a bit hurt.

Mike,

Welcome back, glad you could make it.

Nobody knows what the hell that song is about…or why it doesn’t have a name.

We have a couple of crack agents working on it here, lol!

That Wildfire song seems to bring out strong emotions in people, both for and against.

Luckily for me, the likes outnumber the dislikes.

I have always liked that Lightfoot song, and “Dark Horse” by George Harrison WAS a Dark Horse, lol!

Didn’t figure too many would know it, even though it was the title track of an album by him.

As you may see written here already, it would indeed have been cool to hear The Race Is On right out of the gates.

I had the thought while thinking about the show, but it dissolved when actually doing it.

Thanks for listening and writing, happy you enjoyed it,

Mike

Jon & RJ,

You guys are nuts, lol!

I can’t even remember my own name, and no one is giving me any pain.

Except for the mental torture of you two CSI agents deconstructing the lyrics of an innocuous song, lol!

Sure that’s the ticket, the desert made the rider only remember HIS name.

While the horse knew his OWN name, but horses can’t talk, and I wouldn’t waste my time telling the rider his name either.

WHEEEEEHHHH!!!!!

As for this:

All camels are named either Hump or Humpy (depending on how many humps they have). It’s true! Google it!

Googled it, and Snopes says it is not true.

Only humps named Jon believe it, LOL!

Thanks for the laughs,

Mike
