Classic Rock Bottom

Here's how this show came about.
I noticed it would be broadcast on March 3rd, or 03/03.
And that made me think of Trios.
Simple as that.
Join me for a listen!

RJ,
He's mobile, lol!
And the Golden Pell goes to Lizzy Borden by the Chad Mitchell Trio.
Nice pick, and a song that was actually a hit by them.
Are the words trio and threesome interchangeable?
Maybe, but a threesome makes me think of a menage a trois, so I quickly corrected it, lol!
Thanks for the listen and mobile writing,
Mike

Excellent show Mike. On mobile again, so quickly the Golden Pell goes to the Lizzy Borden song. That was funny.

Are the words trio and threesome interchangeable?

I liked him when he was John McLaughlin, lol!

Yeah, I have Purple Rain, probably won't listen to it anytime soon, there are better albums.

My collection is grand the way it is.

Music can be like garbage, there's always more of it daily, lol!

You should listen on Podomatic, I think the quality is better.

It was weird, it was like it was from another show. It was on Spreaker if you want to check it out.

Yeah, Mahavisnhu Orchestra, Return To Forever, Al DiMeola are some of the fusion I like. But, I also like Big Band music, it's the smooth jazz I'm not into at all.

I tell ya, if you don't have Purple Rain, Sign O The Times, Around The World In A Day and 1999 in your collection, it's not complete!

I have never been able to understand Prince, or his appeal.

And I am pretty open about Music, I just don't get him.

Frankly too, I think I like Jazz more than the Jazz Rock Fusion, but I may just be forgetting some great songs.

Hey, was I cut off at the end of that 1st half or did you black out because of Puff, lol?

I've been into Prince & his cohorts for years, have always liked Sheila E. because she actually has immense talent.  The albums I was checking out are quite expensive for some reason.

I never really paid attention to George Duke even though I've heard a few of his songs. What really interests me is his fusion period so I picked up a few of his mid 70's albums. I've always liked jazz fusion/ jazz rock so those albums will go nicely with the ones I have.

Jon,
Funny you should say that.
I wanted to start with something different...and short.
I thought of My Three Sons and Three's A Company.
Before recording the show, I mentioned it to a good friend, and he suggested the 3 Stooges Theme, which I thought was a great idea!
And when I sat down to do the show, I completely forgot all about the Stooges, lol!
Had some Jazz instrumentals in there, just at the right time for you and your jazzy mood.
You have been surprising me with your openness to all kinds of music- it's one of the things I like about RJ.
I had thought you were a heavy metal guy, but getting into George Duke, even Sheila E (who I used to want to get into, lol), that impresses me as have your songs of the day.
PP&M have steadfastly denied any drug references in Puff, which can only mean they haven't heard their own song, lol!
It was a pretty unpredictable mixture of songs, but I like to do that.
So don't mention any, be surprised.
Of course there are some obvious ones I'll be playing too.
The half-show ends with "with fm ra.."?
Sounds like it got cut off, I said much more than that.
Wonder which you listened at, Podomatic?
Thanks for the listen and writing,
Mike

Interesting. You could have started off with the Three Stooges theme, but you didn't.

I liked this show, especially the jazzy stuff. This past weekend I was in a jazzy mood and was checking out early George Duke which I got too from checking out Sheila E. Almost picked up some George Duke, but held back for the time being. Soon, I will. But not right now.

And then it all goes to that drug song which fits in with the jazz. Deny, deny, deny.

So many trios you can feature! I won't mention any because I want to be surprised.

The show ends with "with fm ra.." Is that a secret message?
