I forgot to identify the Song and Group that ended last Chapter, so I will.
That was TV, let's Go To The Movies for some Namedropping In Songs!
Self-explanatory, not much I can add.
And I'll close with that King Of Namedropping again this week.
Here's hoping I come up with a Theme change for next week, lol!
In the meantime, I ask you to have fun with this!

Sorry RJ, forgot about this.

I like it- he's all over the place with people and things.

The perfect song for my Namedropping shows, lol!
Thanks,

Mike

RJ,
Whoa, twenty-eight minutes of listening bliss?
May never happen again, lol!
I did play that  Kinks song in the Series about Movies, which I never finished.
Beef up that Kinks collection, Gordon Lightfoot too- they'll be staples of yours!
James Dean is great!
And some songs you need a vacation from to like them, such as  Betty Davis Eyes.
Garland Jeffreys 35mm Dreams is truly a terrific song, and I thik you noted that when I did Movies too!
That Bob Dylan Highway 61 Revisited LP is one of his best, but I can say that about so many of his albums.
The surprising Golden Pell winner, from 2001, is Movie Kisses by Thea Gilmore!
A guy in Ireland turned me on to her, and she's made some wonderful albums.
And I thought my little rant about Hollywood, Kisses and Chopsticks was funny, lol!
I'll return to that Series bro, sometime in the future,
Thanks for the listen and writing, I know it's tough at work, and work is coming next,
Mike

Jon,
That song was from 1977, so he was somewhat popular before the 80's.
You put him out of your mind because he sounded too much like Bruce and Southside Johnny eh, lol!
But that's a damn good song!
I love the Kinks, whether LOUD or not.
I think I mentioned how I saw them open for Robert Palmer and idiots were talking during their performance.
I was with a girl and I almost got into a fight.
Nice thinking on Kim Carnes.
Garland Jeffreys memories for that song and a few others, that's good, lol!
Thanks for the listen and writing, getting the newspaper in your bathrobe,
Mike

Hey, hey Mike!  This was my favorite part of the series.  Twenty-eight minutes of listening bliss.

As I was listening to that first song, I thought it was probably The Kinks.  I even think I might have heard you play this on another show somewhere along the line, but I'm not sure.  This band is a staple for you, and for good reason.  Every time you play one of their songs, I like it.  I swear I'm gonna beef up my Kinks collection, probably because of you.

James Dean is a really cool song.  The guitar on that song is absolutely killer.  I never really liked Betty Davis Eyes when it was released, but I do like it more now.

Jon mentioned some stuff about Garland Jeffreys, but I don't know about any of that stuff.  But 35mm Dreams was a terrific song.

And now, as you play another staple, Bob Dylan, you've got me wanting to pick up some Dylan.  I did buy John Wesley Harding a couple weeks ago.  Listened to about half of it at work today, but got too busy and had to ditch the music.

All of the above was great, but I really liked the song Movie Kisses by Thea Gilmore.  I was guessing it was late 90's, but I think you said it was 2000 or something like that.  Either way, that's your Golden Pell winner.

Like I said, I liked this part the best.  Great series brother.

I completely forgot about Garland Jeffreys. He had a popular album in the early 80's, at least it was popular in my neck of the woods. Not popular to me, but popular to others. It had a greenish cover, if I remember correctly. He was too much like BS and Southside Johnny, so didn't really appeal to me. But, at least I kinda remember him!

That Kinks song is one of those I sing to. I think I know the words? Just a great song, quite sad as well. The live version on "One From The Road" is quite good as well. They were the first band I ever saw in concert and they were LOUD. I didn't like them too much before the concert, but liked them better after seeing them because they were LOUD. Bryan Adams opened for them and nobody cared.

Kinda was wondering if you would play Kim Carnes, and you did. Imagine that!

Nice show/series. It brought back Garland Jeffreys memories, not sure if that's good or bad. It is what it is, I guess.
