ROCKOLLECTIONS: VOL2- THE ORIGINALS PT.2 END

Got some more Cover Versions and The Originals.
The Surprise in here will probably be the Rolling Stones, with their first Top Ten song here in the U.S.
It was originally done by a lady who was so bitter about their hit she never sang it again!
And give the Stones a good listen- after years of only ever hearing the song in Mono, it is in True Stereo here!
I caught up with a bunch of them that have been floating around in Germany and Japan for years.
Again, this was fun for me- got Bootlegs, Blues, a Former Beatle, Ye Olde English, even more Everlys...it's a true Mixed Bag.
Enjoy!

RJ,
He's Going Mobile...The Who, lol!
I tend to like the Originals myself, in most cases they are the first ones I heard.
So Irma Thomas' version of Time Is On My Side gets the coveted Golden Pell.
Is she still alive?
If so, I am sure she will be thrilled, no more disappintment for her, lol!
But that may be the only time you've heard that Stones song in actual true stereo!
Pick a copy from any of their numerous Hits Collections and you'll hear what I mean.
Thanks for the listen and writing, and the "Cool show" words,
Mike

Jon,
Seems like the operative word in there is old, and I feel OLD today, LOL!
Oh I am SURE are many other artists that are bitter their original version wasn't a hit for them but for someone else.
It would be work to find them, although I could probably think of a few if I felt like thinking.
I'll let them seep out in future Originals shows!
Thanks for the listen and writing,
Mike

On the mobile, so this will be short.

I have to take all of the originals here, with the exception of The Stones. But I do like Irma Thomas' version of the song. I can understand her "disappointment" in it being a hit for the Stones. Therefore', five decades later, I am awarding her the coveted Golden Pell. I'm sure that this more than makes up for her previous disappointment.

Cool show Mike.

Nice show, something old and something......not as old? Wonder if there are any other artists that are bitter their original version wasn't a hit for them but for someone else. That would be worth researching, but it sounds like work.
